Item description for Not Left Behind: Going Back For The Offended by James Jay Ferris & Lisa Weger...
Overview Jay Ferris and Lisa Weger were the unwitting and unlikely recipients of a match made in heaven. At the time that the Lord put him in contact with Lisa, Jay was sixty-five years old, a Christian for over 30 years, and doing research for another book he was writing on spirituality and intimacy. Lisa was forty seven years old, not yet a Christian, and searching for deeper spiritual intimacy. They met on a non-Christian web list that dealt with intimacy and spirituality. Jay, having arrived as part of his research, watched, submerged like a U-boat, tracking the ships and their direction in the midst of a convoy. On the 16th of December 2003, he sent a private email to Lisa, a participant on the list. Lisa responded, and their correspondence has since become extensive, reading something like what the script might have been between Jesus and the "woman at the well".
Publishers Description Intimacy, be it with other people or with Christ, is something that many Christians long for but may never find. In this book, Lisa and Jay help us to explore the boundries of intimacy by opening up the correspondence between them which led to lisa becoming a Christian and finding the heart of intimacy that she had longed for all of her life.
Since then, we have had the privilege of being involved in the church that emerged in Lisa's home. We have watched with delight and joy as Lisa has grown rapidly i her walk with Jesus through the ongoing mentoring process with Jay by email. Lisa oozes the love of Jesus. She instinctively knows how to draw people into her own intimacy with the Lord. The little group that meets i her home has become a wonderfully vibrant and intimate community of God's people.

Not sure what the point was?? Sep 2, 2005
Well I have lots of questions about this book. In the end I found it really not very useful. This is the sharing of 2 peoples emails. It's very boring to me. It was good to see someones interaction but there was no real point to the book. It was a waste of time and money for me.
Christ in Cyberspace ! Jun 19, 2005
It seems to me that, through this book, the Lord is once again pointing out that His ways are higher than our ways. I applaud the courage and faith of both these writers to follow the Lord's leading -- and look where it led! I say, "Yay God" for sending such a tender-hearted missionary into cyberspace.
Great Read Jun 12, 2005
My good friend Jay is a great writer. Unfortunatly what he writes is not necessarily what he practices. Take this book with a grain of salt knowing that most of it thoery that even the author has not put into practice.
Wondering Jun 6, 2005
I got this book with great anticipation when it first came out. As I read it, it was a new look at what church should be. I just had to wonder how to apply this. Knowing the author and then reading the book makes me wonder.
Does this apply to his family or does it just apply to certain others? I know some kids that have been hurt over the years that wish what the author wrote in this book were really practiced by him.
It is the way the church should be. Maybe the author should put some of this into practice.
