Item description for Faith Lost: Faith Regained (Theological Seminar) by James Atkinson...
Overview Since the Renaissance, the modern scientific mind has tended to relegate God to the status of an unnecessary hypothesis. Theologians long met such challenges in traditional terms, but in recent times Christian thinkers, overrun by the unexamined claims of modernism and post-modernism, have adapted Christianity to the new learning, thereby undermining Christian faith. The answer lies in a fuller epistemology and a profounder ontology to explain the universe and man's place in it. Authentic faith in the Christ of the NT is holistic and must, like the new Physics, reject the reductionist notion of physical laws as the sole level of explanation.
