The Trainer rocks! May 18, 2008
The Trainer is a great two-in-one story that combines a humorous flashback to the 80's with a modern day suspense thriller. Torridian has written a page turner that starts out being just plain fun and then picks up the pace with each page until the edge-of-your seat finish. I can't wait until his next book comes out!
80's meets the new millennium! Apr 28, 2008
This was a great read. I loved the references to the 80's (having lived my formative years during that decade). The book is fast paced, interesting, and scarey all at once. Hard to put down. This is a quick read with lots of satisfaction.
The Trainer Apr 10, 2008
If you are a child of the eighties then you will definitely appreciate this book. In the beginning, Torridian manages to transport us back in time when movies like "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty In Pink" were a reflection of own experiences as teenagers. Then he brings us back to the present day where the Internet, E-mail and the threat of terrorism has complicated and changed our way of life. Through this journey, Torridian has created vivid and complex characters that the reader can easily identify with. He introduces us to friendships that form in high school and are carried into adulthood. We watch, helpless, as the main characters in the book disappear into an emotionally destructive world of intrigue and covert operations. This is an engrossing novel. It is meticulously written and will appeal to both men and women who are of the adventurous and intellectual types. This book is a quick and easy read that you are sure to enjoy.
Great Suspense/Thriller Novel Feb 26, 2008
Great book. If you grew up during the 80s, you will love the story line and references. The second part of the book, in particular, will have you flipping page after page to see what happens next. Once I started reading I had a hard time putting the book down!
