Item description for It's in the Book; I Don't Like How I Look; My Friends Don't Go to Church; Can Your Keep a Secret? (Connect) by Abingdon Press...
Connect is a topical, activity-based resource for leaders who work with younger youth, ages 12-15. The resource will help youth deal with issues they face daily. Each volume contains 13 sessions that are grouped into topic-based units. Sessions are flexible enough to be used in a variety of different settings -- such as Sunday mornings, youth fellowship, and midweek study. Containing plenty of options for engaging youth in lively sessions, Connect can easily be adapted to fit class sessions lasting different lengths of time. With Connect, leaders also have the flexibility to select the volume containing topics that address particular issues that are timely or that interest youth at any given time.
Each session in Connect is divided into five sub-sessions, or connection points: Initial Connection, Connect With the Session, Connect With the Bible and the Faith Community, Connect With Life, and Closing Connection. Connection points help youth explore each issue in the context of their own lives and experiences, and in the context of the Bible and the church. Each of these five connection points contains several options for short, lively activities to help younger youth connect their faith and their lives.
