More About Zondervan Publishing
Zondervan is an American international Christian media and publishing company located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Zondervan is a founding member of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).
Zondervan was founded in 1931 in Grandville, MI, a suburb of Grand Rapids, by brothers Peter ("P.J.", "Pat") and Bernard (Bernie) Zondervan, who were the nephews of publisher William B. Eerdmans. The company began in the Zondervans' farmhouse and originally dealt with selling remainders and publishing public domain works. The first book it published was Women of the Old Testament by Abraham Kuyper, in 1933.
Within a few years Zondervan developed titles of its own, and began publishing Bible editions. The Berkeley Version appeared in 1959, and the Amplified Bible in 1965. The NIV New Testament was published in partnership with the International Bible Society in 1973, and the complete NIV Bible appeared in 1978.
The company was bought by HarperCollins, a division of News Corp, in 1988, and is the company's principal Christian book publishing division.
Zondervan also publishes many other books by Christian authors focusing on topics of interest to Christians. In the 1970s it published The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey, which has sold more than 30 million copies. They are also known for the Bible storytelling books of Ethel Barrett, Joni by quadriplegic Joni Eareckson Tada, Baptist minister and author Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life, which has sold more than 35 million copies, Sacred Marriage, the modern marriage classic by Gary Thomas (author), and Rob Bell, author of Velvet Elvis and presenter of NOOMA. NOOMA is a series of short spiritual films. In 2004, Zondervan expanded to include Renee Altson, Shane Claiborne, Sarah Raymond Cunningham and Margaret Feinberg, authors writing for young readers.

Awesome Bible! Jan 7, 2007
I originally bought this bible for my son who is in college, but after reading through it, I decided to buy one for myself. It is so easy to understand, and the sidenotes are so interesting. A true blessing and a great way to receive the Word!
The best bible to learn from! Aug 7, 2006
I am new to religion and wanted to learn and understand the bible. This bible did just that.
Very Happy Aug 4, 2006
I had never heard of the QUEST Bible until my Daughter come to visit me, and she had her copy of the Quest Bible. The first time I looked at the Bible I was very excited as there were things in this Bible that I Had never seen in any other Bible. After reading a couple of chapters I was convinced that this was another Bible that I had to have. I ordered one, showed it to some friends and the same story, They wanted one also, so they ordered one and we all are very happy with it. The only thing that I find fault with is the size of the print. I went on line and tried to find a Large print Bible but was told that the Large print is out of publication. Would you consider putting the Large print Bible back out.
Quest Bible is GREAT! Jul 28, 2006
I received this Bible as a gift a few years ago and highly recommend it! There are questions and answers along the sides of the pages to assist you while reading. This has been VERY helpful to me and has actually encouraged me to continue reading.
In the past, I'd often get confused or caught up on what something meant, but the notes really help you understand things like background of the text/situation, definition of words, how the information is relevent for us today, etc.
Also, where it's applicable, answers don't seem to sway a reader towards any particular denomination, but rather explain what various Christians believe regarding certain issues and allow the reader to decide for him/herself.
The ONLY thing I would change about my Quest Bible is that it didn't come with the indentations on the sides of the pages to make it easier to locate the books. Mine (Hardcover, 2003) didn't have this, so I added in my own tabs, purchased from a Bible bookstore. Even so, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Bible!
