A useful tool for grieving Mar 26, 2007
This book was given to me as a gift almost 10 years ago when my husband died. When I finally felt ready to open it I found it a very comforting way to end each day. The meditations come from a variety of sources, some faith-based, but not all. They seemed to reasonate with me regardless. Martha Hickman has a very genuine voice, down to earth, thoughtful and sincere. I have since given it to friends and family members when they have lost loved ones.

I read it every day. Some days it doesn't do anything for me, other days it tells me there another day coming. I ordered a copy for all of my children and my grandaughter. I then ordered 10 copies and have them for friends when they have a loss. Great book I recommend it highly. Healing After Loss: Daily Meditations For Working Through Grief
This is a remarkable book. Mar 10, 2007
Trying to deal with overwhelming grief over the loss of my mom, this book sort of fell into my hand at my local library. There are no words to describe the amount of comfort I got -- and still get -- from these pages. I can't tell you the number of copies I've purchased and given away. Everyone finds something that makes them feel better. I recommend it highly.

Grief is a very personal, and at times a lonely journey as no one journey is the same. I found reading a page or pages during the day would bring comfort and 'identify' what I may be feeling or it may bring a much needed moment's peace. This is one book I would recommend if you are going through the very difficult journey with grief having lost someone you dearly love.
