Item description for Politician, The by Herman Franck...
Resolution: build a new nation.
California Congressman, Adam Daniels, proposes a drastic solution to the national debt. His idea is rejected by his peers and the citizenry. Politically isolated, the politician leads a consortium of US industry in a treasonous solution of their own - New Nation - afloat in the Pacific Ocean.
Can the politician challenge The United States' global primacy with a new form of democracy? Can his vision for New Nation survive indictments for treason, international treachery, giant tsunamis, and nuclear blackmail?

Herman Franck - Another 20,000 Leagues Jun 24, 2002
This book was written as purely fiction, and is highly adventurous. Mr. Franck has created a futuristic master peice with his writing and plot, but when compared with the recent literature on FREEDOM SHIP, one must question as to whether it is fiction or the shape of things to come. Many unexpected twists with truly accurate assessments of todays world makes this a very exciting book from cover to cover.
