Reviews - What do customers think about The Forgotten Past (The Arhka Chronicles, Vol. 2)?
Extraordinary Improvement Dec 26, 2007
After reading the first and loving the story but staggering slightly o the writing style, the second has proven mind blowing. The author is much more confident in her writing style and much more familiar with her characters. It really shows as the overall story arc begins to show its true nature. Look out for this author to make a permanent home on the shelves of scifi/fantasy fans everywhere.
The Forgotten Past Nov 1, 2007
The different factions of Arhka had been fighting for centuries. Power and greed. Who rules whom. That sort of thing. Then, the aliens attacked. The four races of Arhka either had to come together or be destroyed.
A parallel situation is being played out in with a group of individuals from our planet. Stephanie, her friend Eris, and Stephanie's Mom are drawn into the problems at Arhka. Derrick, Stephanie's brother, has been living with his father so he has no idea that his Mother and sister are missing until the same aliens attack Earth. These aliens abduct Derrick and Eri's brother Jason. Hope for Arhka lies in the hands of the abducted Earthlings, the beings of Arhka, and an ancient force called the Oracle.
The Forgotten Past is an adventure filled novel with lots of conflict (emotional and physical). This is the second book of The Arhka Chronicles. I haven't read the first book in the series and was still able to enjoy the story without much confusion. Nonetheless, I am sure that if I had read the first book, I would have had a better grasp on the politics of the Arhka races and more background on the characters.
