Item description for ETERNAL WORD & CHANGING WORLDS by Harvie M. Conn, Harvey Conn & Rockville Conn...
Overview In this book, addressed to the "Western, white evangelical community," Professor Conn drives home the need for a radical reevaluation of our Western models for theology and missions. The rise of non-Western and nonwhite theologies and the changes in our understanding of language, culture, and religions force upon us the realization of the inadequacy of our ethnocentric, abstracting approach to theology and missions

Reviews - What do customers think about ETERNAL WORD & CHANGING WORLDS?
Evolving anthropological influence Mar 13, 2010
Conn does a good job of tracing the evolving influence of developing anthropological thought. The Word of God never changes but the environment where it is communicated changes constantly and dramatically. This book identifies many of the factors that must be considered in faithful and relevant communication of the word in any culture. It is a worthy complement to Marvin Mayers' Christianity Confronts Culture.
