More About Becky Harling
Becky Harling is married to Steve Harling. They got married at age 21 and went right into pastoral ministry. They have four kids and now have five grandkids. They have had the opportunity to minister all over the United States and in many different countries around the world.
One of the reasons Becky is so passionate about helping women find hope is because she knows what it’s like to feel hopeless. She is a survivor of both breast cancer and childhood sexual abuse, and understand what it’s like to feel as though God is far away. Part of her journey of healing includes doctors’ visits and counseling appointments, but a significant part of her healing journey was learning to praise God above the chaos of her life. Praising God was the secret to awakening hope in her heart. "It wasn’t that I praised God for the horror of cancer or for the evil of sexual abuse. I simply learned the power of praising God for who He is above the chaos in my life. As I praised Him, a strange thing happened, God’s presence came close, and Jesus began to awaken hope in my heart."
Becky has written five books: "Freedom from Performing," "Finding Clam in Lifes Chaos," "Re-Writing Your Emotional Script," "The 30-Day Praise Challenge," and her newest book that will be released this year, "The 30-Day Praise Challenge for Parents."
The vision of Becky Harling Ministries is to awaken hope in the hearts of women by teaching them to encounter the Living God through the Bible, embrace their identity in Jesus Christ, and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit through praise and worship.

Reviews - What do customers think about Rewriting Your Emotional Script?
About finding a path to joy in your future Sep 27, 2008
All of us have an emotional script that we live by. We've been receiving messages about ourselves, good or bad, for our entire existence. And the messages we have received cause us to think and act in a certain way now. But what if we can change those negative messages from our youth and see ourselves as our Heavenly Father sees us?
In Rewriting Your Emotional Script, author Becky Harling walks us, step by step, through a total overhaul of our thoughts and attitudes and encourages us to overcome. She uses each of the beatitudes to tackle different aspects of the past hurts and transform them into something no longer in control of our lives. And in this process, she encourages us to long for God and seek Him at all cost.
This is an extraordinary book. It is for those with markedly ugly pasts (including molestation and abuse) as well as for those that can't point to a major circumstance but harbor many little (or not so little) hurts regardless. She encourages a particular system of working through the script re-writing process which includes memorizing scripture, thorough Bible study, an in-depth look at our personal emotional script, and unleashing the power of praise.
There is so much to this book that it will take a great amount of time and energy to adequately work through the entire thing. But I think that those who plunge into the process will emerge, not unscathed, but on the road to healing. It may be terrifying to face the hurt of the past, but worth it if we find joy in the future.
Armchair Interviews says: Powerful process toward personal peace and joy.
Good Bible Study Book Sep 22, 2008
Emotions are so powerful they can control our lives. Becky Harling understands that. Recovering from her own abusive childhood, she has become a national speaker of women's groups. In the process, she has encountered many women who have been broken by life. In this book she uses scripture passages intermingled with personal stories to make her point. The reader will find a section for praying the scriptures and one titled Further Transformation to be used in digging deeper into God's will. Rewriting Your Emotional Script would be an excellent study course for a group, or for an individual. Practical help for anyone wanting to take charge of her emotional life.
Highly recommend Aug 18, 2008
I highly recommend "Rewriting Your Emotional Script". The topics ring so true with the struggles women have. This book is very well laid out as Becky shares her own journey, creating the feel that you are walking through this together. The stories of other women help you identify and evaluate your own old messages. She brings a fresh and insightful look at the Beatitudes and other scriptures in ways I have never considered before.
As a pastor's wife I have tried many book Bible studies before, I appreciate the layout of the lessons, the scripture and worship opportunities. They make sense and continue to guide you in your own personal journey. The questions are thought provoking and help you process what you have read in the previous chapters. It is all connected - many studies I have done before just seemed like busy work. I am going through this study with a friend and it has been a wonderful springboard for discussion and sharing. I highly recommend you read this book - it will minister to you and I'm sure will prompt you to share it with a friend!
