Prof. Dr. Hans-Dietrich Haasis, born in 1958, studied industrial engineering, graduated in 1987 and promoted in 1993 to professor at the University of Karlsruhe. From 1986???1994 he was head of the research team "Systems analysis: energy, environment, industrial production" at the Institute of Industrial Production in Karlsruhe. Since 1994 he is full professor for Business Administration, Production Management and Industrial Economics at the University of Bremen. From July 1998 until 2001 he was dean of the department of economics. He gave lectures at the Ecole Nationale Sup??rieure de P??trole et des Moteurs, Paris Rueil-Malmaison, at the University Eichst??tt-Ingolstadt, and at the Private University Witten-Herdecke. He's member and was between 2002 and 2005 speaker of the Research Cluster Logistics at the University of Bremen. In 2003 he received the B.A.U.M.- Environment Award. He was invited to give lectures amongst others at the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, and the Technical University of Changcha, China. Since December 2001 he is director of the ISL - Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics, Bremen.
Hans-J??rg Kreowski is professor for Theoretical Computer Science at the University of Bremen and member of the Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics. His main research topics are graph transformation, formal modelling and their applications in computer science and logistics. He(co)-authored and (co)-edited 15 books and published more than 120 scientific papers.

Bernd Scholz-Reiter, born in 1957, studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) until 1984. From 1984 to 1985 he implemented a computer-aided system for the price negotiation of multiple products firms for the multi-national company SKF. Following this he was a research assistant at the Department of Systems Analysis and Electronic Data Processing at the Technical University of Berlin. His specialty was in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and computer-aided methods and tools for the planning of information and communication structures in the field of production and logistics. He obtained his doctoral degree in 1990 for his thesis ???Concept of a Computer aided Tool for the Analysis and Modelling of Integrated Information Systems in Production Firms," followed by a post-doctorate fellow research position at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in New York, U.S.A., in the department of Manufacturing Research until 1991. Subsequent to this, he worked at the Technical University of Berlin as an associate professor.
From 1994 to 2000 he served as chair holder of the new chair of Industrial Information Systems at the newly established Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, Germany. Simultaneously, he was head of the Fraunhofer Application Center for Logistics Systems Planning and Information Systems at Cottbus, founded by him in1998.
Since November 2000 he is a full professor and chair holder of the new chair of Planning and Control of Production Systems (PSPS) at the University of Bremen and since 2002 he also serves as director of the Bremen Institute of Industrial Technology and Applied Work Science (BIBA) where he is head of directors since 2004. His BIBA department Intelligent Production and Logistics Systems (IPS) is also a research centre for the German Logistics Association (BVL).
Scholz-Reiter is initiator and vice-speaker of the CRC 637 Autonomous Control of Logistic Processes, speaker of the Bremen Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics as well as speaker of the International Graduate School for Dynamics in Logistics.
Scholz-Reiter is an ordinary member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, an ordinary member of acatech, the Council for Engineering Sciences at the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities; BESIDE OTHER NATIONAL MEMBERSHIIPS he is a member of CIRP, the International Institution for Production Engineering Research, a fellow of the European Academy of Industrial Management (AIM) and an Advisory Board member of the Schlesinger Laboratory at TECHNION - Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel, as well as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Logistics Association (BVL).
He is vice president of the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG).
Scholz-Reiter is editor of the professional journals Industrie Management and PPS Management and member of the editorial board of the International Journal Production Planning & Control. He is author and co-author of more than 250 scientificpublications.
