Beware the Chicken & Angel Hair Pasta Feb 11, 2007
I was shocked when I opened the crock pot at the end of this disastrous recipe. I thought that I must have made a mistake as I frantically read the recipe again. Turns out I did make a mistake....buying this book! In short, this recipe turned out to be dry chicken and pasta in bitter water with white flecks from the sour cream. It was completely inedible. I'm afraid to try anything else. If you review this book, please list what worked for you.
GREAT COOKBOOK! Jan 9, 2007
I LOVE THESE COOKBOOKS AND THIS IS A GREAT PRICE. I PAID MORE FOR MY OWN THESE WERE ACTUALLY GIFTS. I HATE THAT I BOUGHT MINE AT FULL PRICE.
Quick preparation and delicious! Mar 22, 2006
Love the binding on this book. Very good recipes. Ingredients you usually have on hand. Will suggest it to friends.
Busy People should eat better than this! Nov 17, 2005
I own a lot of cookbooks and have honestly never purchased a more ridiculous book. Seven ingredients or less, yes - it's easy when you're using canned soup, prepared chili or bottled marinade. The recipes feature a lot of processed ingredients too like non-dairy creamer for potato chowder. And I don't need a slow cooker to make tea - 8 teabags, water, mint extract and splenda - 2 hours in the old slow cooker and voila, you have something that should take ten minutes to make. Convenient - maybe, Easy - yes, Delicious, no way.
This Cookbook Is Great!!!!! Jan 29, 2005
First of all, if you purchase the book, read the story at the beginning of the cookbook. Dawn Hall, the author, put together her cookbooks to help support her family when her husband had Cancer and then passed away. Now, other families who have a family member with cancer or other organizations can use her cookbook's to sell and raise money for their charitable organization's. Her family's story is an incredibly inspirational one. Her cookbook is great, especially for our family, because I have been ill for several years with no energy to stand in the kitchen and do "real cooking". Her cookbbok is so specific that my husband can look at the ingredient list and buy the exact items that the recipe calls for. He likes it because there is no guess work involved and even he can make a meal for his family. Most cookbooks call for ingredients that I have never heard of. Dawn tells you exactly what brand of pasta to use, what brand of cake mix to use, etc... She even suggests the type of crock pot to use. We have cooked 7-10 recipes and have liked all but one and that was because we bought and used the wrong cake mix. She even has breafast recipes. My children are always excited when the crock pot is plugged in. Thanks, Dawn!!!
