The content of this book is excellent; however, the old style in which it is written made it difficult to read. The revised version in modern english is "an essntial addition to any Christians library.
The Christian in Complete Armour by William Gurnall Mar 12, 2006
I can't put this book down, William Gurnall was truly a man inspired by the Word of God. How has this book be overlooked by our modern church? The this book should be a requirement for graduation from seminary. This book is a must for all Christians who feel something lacking, or for those who do not. Besides the Bible, I have not read a book so powerful.
simply the best! Jul 21, 2005
I received this book almost two weeks ago, and I haven't been the same! The passion and good old-fashioned common sense of this puritan writer absolutely astounds me. The un-abridged addition is a little slow at first to get a handle on, but so is Shakespeare. And it will help you to reap rewards for many years. This book is so full of life transforming truth that it will become your best purchase next to a good study Bible! I can't recommend this book enough!

I have given out over a half a dozen copies of this book to friends and even strangers. THIS IS "THE STUFF!". The saddest part is, I get my personal copy all highlighted and underlined only to find myself giving it away to folks who are hurting worse than I am. THIS IS "THE STUFF!". This is the only book you may ever need besides the Bible itself! THIS IS "THE STUFF!". To say that I am impressed by this book would be understating the obvious. THIS IS "THE STUFF!". This book has impressed, and does daily impress my heart, mind and soul. THIS IS "THE STUFF!". Mere sentences from this book encapsulate more Godly wisdom at times than the human mind can catch in one reading. THIS IS "THE STUFF!". I find myself rereading the same words over and over again just to be sure that I let it "ALL" sink in! THIS IS "THE STUFF!". Did I say that THIS IS "THE STUFF!"? Well, it is!
Most Powerful book this side of the Bible you will ever read Jul 13, 2004
This is the Hardback unabriged edition. Having both, let me highly recomend the unabriged. Let not the size scare you it is written in a manner so friendly as to be able to read a chapter lay it meditate pick it up 3 weeks later and read another. The chapters even the subsections can stand on their own not needing the before or after sections to be blessed with what you are then reading. I spent five years reading the book not because it is hard but because it is so clear and the sentences so full as to make you pause and say yes that is right, amen, Let me rejoice in this awhile. I would some times not be able to get back to it for weeks. Pick it up where I left off with outhaving to review the previous section to regain and uderstanding of what I was reading. Now I have to review Lois Lamore to do the same I am not that smart but This writer is that clear and plain. I recomend you skip The intro by R C Sproul(a great man) And just Begin with Gurnall writeing, You will not Be Disappointed. God Bless and He does and will Bless you as you read The Christian in Complete Armour. The most Bible filled book ever written apart from the Bible it self.
