Reviews - What do customers think about Carnival in Venice: Photographs Celebrating the Art of the Mask?
big disappointment. not worth it. Sep 9, 2008
maybe my expectations were too high. i was not impressed with the photography. poor composition, bad cropping. too many snapshots. some images don't make sense as they don't fit with the theme. carnival takes place in the winter time (jan/feb) when everyone bundles up. why are there random summertime shots of tourists (family?) in t-shirts and shorts? are these filler shots?
also, the book was not very well constructed. when i received it, i noticed that the binding had come apart at the spline.
if you're interested in viewing the book, i would suggest you run down to your local library or bookstore and spend 5 min flipping through the pages rather than wasting your money on it.
just my honest opinion.

Beautifully done photographs of all the costumes and masks from the original mardi-gras in Venice. Just what I was looking for as I make masks and had seen few original costumes complete with masks.
