Overview Daniel Prentice's technological skill saved the world from Y2K in the popular thriller "Flee the Darkness". But that victory didn't stop the darkness or alter the ancient prophecies foretold in the book of Ezekiel. Now Daniel must help as Israel faces the threat of nuclear war and invasion of all four borders.
Daniel Prentice's technological skill helped save the world from the deadly impact of Y2K in the popular thriller "Flee the Darkness." But that victory didn't stop the encroaching evil.
In this gripping sequel, tension mounts in the 21st century as a Russion-Arab invasion of Jerusalem seems imminent. Now Daniel must guide NSA chief Captain Michael Reed in the battle ahead. More than a battle for the land, the offensive could be the fulfillment of Ezekiel's ancient biblical prophecy of Gog and Magog invading Israel. As the world shudders in response, the invaders offer Israel a choice: surrender or be obliterated.
As the State of Israel fortifies itself against the coming onslaught of missiles, biological weapons, and an invasion force attacking from all four borders, Reed and his Israeli counterpart, Sergeant Major Devorah Cohen, exhaust every military resource to prevent a nuclear war. Soon Reed and Cohen realize that the real battle they face is one of spiritual origin-for which no military drill could prepare them. Will Michael and Deborah find faith to confront the enemy?
Never have the forces of evil been stronger, the stakes higher, or the world's possible destruction nearer than "By Dawn's Early Light."

Reviews - What do customers think about By Dawn's Early Light (Millennium Bug Series #2)?
More depth than Left Behind but frustrating romance angle Mar 14, 2005
Jeffrey's book is primarily an apocalyptic thriller, and on that score earns a 4+. The action and plot are fast-paced, much like the Left Behind series. However, the author's characters have much more depth. Michael and Devorah prove to be compassionate, intelligent, and interesting protaganists. The love-tension creates added suspense for much of the book. On the other side, the evil Russian general and his mistress, Alanna, offer the psychological insights that are masterful. We see inside the mind of grandiose bitterness in the general, and the emotional roller coaster of an amatuer mole with Alanna. Rich, addictive writing here!
My major complaint with Dawn's Early Light is that the last several chapters proved too long of an anti-climax. In fact, I sensed how things would pan out even before they did. Additionally, the tension-building forbidden love between Devorah and Michael proved interesting for awhile, but ultimately became frustrating. Jeffrey had a purpose for this element of the plot, but he overplayed it.
Bottom-line: This is an excellent novel, well worth reading. It's almost cheaper to buy it used than to spend gas going to the library to borrow it.
Good But In Error Sep 27, 2002
The writing and story is actually very good, but because I believe that the authors underlying biblical views are in error, that it looses it's relevance.
Novel Surrounding Predicted Future Middle East Scenario. Feb 10, 2002
A gripping and enjoyable account of possible world events surrounding the future invasion of Israel prophesied in the Book Of Ezekiel.
In this account Russian and Arab forces invade Israel amid the spectre of a nuclear holocaust, intent upon the eradication of the Jewish State.
Very timely and appropriate in view of current world events and very readable.
A pre-cursor to the follow-up entitled 'Spear Of Tyranny', which is based around events following the above invasion and the rise of the Anti-Christ and his one-world government/religion.
Both books are very enjoyable and will hold your attention from cover to cover.
Winner of the 2000 Christy Award for Excellence in Fiction! Jun 15, 2001
By Dawn's Early Light is a wonderful read, convincing a panel of judges to award it the 2000 Christy award for excellence in Christian fiction in the end-times category. (BTW, I, for one, am tired of seeing inane reviews where someone who obviously hasn't not read the book trashes it just so he can praise WE ALL FALL DOWN.) By Dawn's Early LIght is a fast-paced, sensitive portrayal of end times--truly a winner! I love prophetic novels, have read several, and this is one of the best!
Not very good Jun 11, 2001
I picked up this novel hoping that Jeffrey would offer up something new. New insight into Revelations, new thoughts about what it means to be a Christian, or just a new, exciting endtimes novel. Unfortunately, he accomplished none of that. Cashing in on a trend without the talent to pull it off doesn't strike me as the most Christian of endevours. If you're looking for a quality book about Revelations, try Brian Caldwell's We All Fall Down instead. It's intellegent, compelling, and utterly engrosing. It puts this book to shame.
