Item description for Moving from Fear to Freedom: A Woman's Guide to Peace in Every Situation by Grace Fox...
Overview Each chapter in this work highlights a particular area where readers can begin to experience freedom from fears about their personal identity, their finances, their kids, the future, and more. (Practical Life)
Fear was not part of God's original agenda for his creation. It slithered onto the scene when Adam and Eve sinned, causing a tear in their relationship with God. And even though fear touches every life and can still debilitate people today, the news isn't all bad. Popular speaker and author Grace Fox demonstrates how believers can face their fear and actually let it be a catalyst for change.
Readers will learn how to stop hiding from God and instead develop a deeper relationship with Him. This is what she calls "the upside of fear": When we cry out to God for help, He answers, and we experience Him in new ways.
Each chapter highlights a particular area where readers can begin to experience freedom from fears about their personal identity, their finances, their kids, the future, and more.

More About Grace Fox
Grace Fox was in fourth grade when she realized words—not numbers—were her forte. A decade later, someone asked her what she would do with her life if time and money were non-issues. “I’d write,” she said. She had no idea what that might look like, but she thought it sounded glamorous.
Several years later, Grace married and moved to Nepal where she and her husband worked for a Christian agency that focused on economic development and health care. The newlyweds lived in a mud and rock house with no electricity or running water for more than two years. Isolation, culture shock, language barriers, creepy crawlers, and becoming a mother in these remote conditions stretched and grew Grace’s faith. Then came the ultimate test: giving birth to a wee girl with critical medical needs but not being allowed to accompany the infant to the United States for treatment.
“Saying goodbye to my three-day-old daughter, not knowing whether or not I’d see her alive again, was the most difficult thing I’d ever done but it marked a turning point in my spiritual life,” says Grace. “I’d grown up attending Sunday school and church, and I’d graduated from Bible college. I’d gleaned a lot of head knowledge about God, but suddenly that knowledge became my reality. I experienced His faithfulness as never before, and His promises came alive to me. That experience laid the foundation for my writing ministry as I now seek to encourage women to pursue intimacy with God.”
Faith-testing experiences characterize Grace’s life and provide continual material for her articles and books. When she’s not writing, she’s preparing for speaking engagements at women’s retreats and conferences in North America and abroad.
In 2007, Grace and her husband were asked to launch International Messengers Canada. As a result, she also recruits, trains, and leads short-term ministry teams to post-Communist bloc countries including Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Ukraine. One of her books, Moving from Fear to Freedom: A Woman’s Guide to Peace in Every Situation, has been translated into Polish. This has opened countless doors of ministry to women in that country.
Grace’s greatest joy, however, comes in spending time with her husband of 31 years, their three married kids, and five grandchildren. She considers the summer of 2013 as remarkable for she gained a son-in-law and a wee grandson in only eight days.

Ready to Let Go? Jul 3, 2008
Reading this book brought back so many personal experiences I have had to give to God! Fox has written what I truly believe--we can be free of fear even in the midst of the worst storms of our lives! Her examples are easy to relate to since most of us have "been there, done that" with at least some of them. The Points for Progress provide the reader with excellent insight into the heart of each concern and then the Promises to Ponder give us the hope we need to carry out the necessary soul-searching. I love books with prayers in them, and Grace's prayers at each chapter's end are precious. I highly recommend this book, and having been a person filled with fears, I have the right! (Smile)
Get ready to move past your fears! Jan 11, 2008

I made the move! Dec 30, 2007
Moving from Freedom to Fear addresses the reality of fear--even for the Christian woman. Yes, we know that God has not given us this spirit, but sometimes it's hard to overcome it and live in the power He has for us. Through transparency, reflection, and guided steps, Grace Fox helps us face up to our own fears and leads us to the truth--the truth that we can walk in freedom! Thank you for a beautiful reminder of His greatness, even in the midst of our fear.
Real answers for too-common fears Dec 6, 2007
Read this book and you'll find yourself saying, "That's me," or "Maybe this is how I can minister to my hurting friend." Grace has her finger on the pulse of what women think and are often afraid to admit so that they could truly live in freedom. Grace is a diligent researcher, who conducted many personal interviews to get just the right stories to make her book real. The end-of-chapter questions, focus scriptures, and prayer bring reminder that no fear is beyond God's help. Get it for yourself and to use in a women's Bible study.
