Reviews - What do customers think about Secrets About Guys: (That Shouldn't Be Secret)?
Finally... the book I've been waiting for! Apr 24, 2006
As a mother of two boys (teen and preteen), I really appreciated someone writing about them in an objective and kind way. Grace gives girls practical advice on being attractive without being promiscuous or pushy. My boys have dealt with many of the issues Grace addresses as "mistakes girls make" and would agree with her suggestions. I so appreciate Grace Dove's dealing with this subject. I have already given away two books and am going to buy more!
mother of teenage girls raves about this awesome book Mar 27, 2006
Never have I read a book written for adolescents (and their parents!) that is as profound, enlightening and liberating as this one! Grace Dove has unleashed a host of powerful insights. How I wish this book had been available when I was a girl! Not only does it reveal the unknown world of guys, it gives girls the liberty to be who they are, all the while earning the respect and honor they deserve. This book truly does a wonderful service to both sexes and speaks truth while being neither reproachful nor condescending. A truly revolutionary book!
Awsome Book!!! Mar 24, 2006
I have read this book about six times and everytime I read it I learn something new. Secrets About Guys (That Shouldn't Be Secret) has helped not only me but I had my friends read it as well and it has changed all of our lives!! It changed the way I think about guys and how I respond to them. Grace Dove is a wonderful author who knows how to relate to her readers, and this book is in my opinion one of the best books I have ever read!!!!
religious conservative's attempt to influence teen girls Mar 17, 2006
While Grace Dove is entitled to her opinion that women should be subserviant to men, those purchasing the book should be informed that teen girls are being given some outlandish advice and information. For example, Dove claims that there is a rise in homosexuality because women compete with men in the workplace. She also says girls should go to charm school, not college. Dove also believes women working and horoscopes are linked to witchcraft.
It's about time someone finally tells the truth about guys! Sep 7, 2005
Wow! How interesting, fun, and relevant this book was for me! As a mom with my 3 girls having already left the nest for some time now, I can't help but regret I didn't have a book like this available before they left to be on their own. It would have helped them so much. It's everything I wanted to tell them about life with guys and it was written in such a way that they would have read it.
So now I am passing it out for birthday and graduation presents to those teen girls that I know will enjoy and benefit from it. It's commonsense wisdom that a mom wants to pass on.
