Great help with my children's program Mar 16, 2007
I love this book. I teach Sunday school. I am always looking for creative ways to present the bible story. This book has that plus craft and creative game ideas. I use this book almost every Sunday.
Using This for Homeschool Nov 18, 2005
This is the second Bible curriculum I have tried this year with my first grader in homeschool.
What my daughter and I love about the curriculum is how interactive it is. The teachers leads children through the story by helping them draw a series of simple pictures. I also like that it actually leads children through an overview of the entire Bible IN ORDER (a hard thing to find these days) in 52 lessons. Very little prep is needed for each lesson.
Because we are using this in a homeschool context, I didn't purchase the skits or crafts books. We just focus on the telling of the stories.
The main drawbacks of this curriculum (in my opinion) are that 1) it doesn't emphasize Bible memory work, and 2) the "main points" of the Bible stories don't tend to focus on explaining how the particular story fits into the overall story of the Bible.
But overall, for the price I am very happy with this and will use it for many years to come.
God's Big Picture : Reproducible Leader's Guide Apr 25, 2002
Overall, the book is very good. The book contains 52 lessons from the bible. Provides scripture memory verses, questions to trigger discussion, exercises for younger and older youth. It is very easy to understand, and provides a variety of suggested activities for each lesson. People who buy this book should know that some of the suggested activities refer you to resources in other books in the series such as "The Big Book of Bible Skills" and The Big Book of Bible Skits" and "Coloring Pages".
