Item description for No Small Snakes: A Journey Into Spiritual Warfare by Gordon Dalbey...
Overview Part memoir and part confession, "There Are No Small Snakes" stares unblinking at one man's discovery of a shadow-war, with himself behind enemy lines. He warns that those who don't let God nurture their lives may find themselves in the thrall of dark and terrible forces.
Are You Ready for Battle?
As a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Nigeria, a much-younger Gordon Dalbey scoffed at an illiterate laborer's account of dark spirits that had invaded his house. The man looked the highly educated American squarely in the eye. "There are no small snakes," he declared.
Even as the smallest poisonous snake can easily kill the largest and strongest man, to discount dark spiritual forces is not only arrogant, but dangerous.
"No Small Snakes "relates Dalbey's upending journey from scoffer to spiritual warrior, from arrogance to bold humility. Both spiritual memoir and soldier's manual, this book will challenge you to face the spiritual battle at hand today and prepare you to win it - in your heart and in the world.

Reviews - What do customers think about No Small Snakes: A Journey Into Spiritual Warfare?
Spiritual Warfare Journal May 23, 2010
I first became aware of Gordon Dalbey through the men's ministry at our church, New Life Christian Church in Centreville, VA. Mr. Dalbey's writings from Healing the Masculine Soul were quoted by our ministry leader. Based on the favorable impression I received of Mr. Dalbey in this manner I started following his ministry and subsequently ordered Snakes. While I come from a Christian background my prior experience in the faith did not emphasize spiritual warfare. It did not deny it -- but concentrated primarily on living a life in keeping with the Scripture and in being a good witness of the Biblical faith in word and through my Christian "walk." Although I have always accepted the Bible as the authoritative revelation of God, I had never fully comprehended the extent to which Scripture deals with people as essentially spiritual beings and the nature of the warfare that exists between the God of the Bible and evil spiritual forces which seek to subvert us and draw us away from the Savior and His grace. Mr. Dalbey's book was a real eye-opener for me and I found it compelling in the way it revealed the working of evil forces and how we can be delivered from the counterfeits masquerading as truth and light -- when they're anything but. The gifts of the Holy Spirit and their use and value in the spiritual realm are thoroughly discussed. I found no variance between Snakes and the clear teachings of the Bible. On the contrary, there was total consistency and all major points made by Mr. Dalbey were backed up by Spiritual citations. I found no obscure texts or out-of-context statements used to support his message. I have no difficulty in highly recommending this book to anyone open to gaining a deeper understanding of spiritual warfare and how to be fortified and armed for the battle. And, it is an interesting read.
A good book on spiritual warfare and Christian healing Jan 14, 2010
Gordon Dalbey has written an excellent book on the value and dangers of spiritual warfare. He is a minister who has been in the field of healing, prayer warfare, and counseling. This book is based on his experiences in the Peace Corps, in Southern California, and other places where he used healing prayer. He has fought many spiritual warfare battles with the enemy and suggests there are no small snakes and no spirits of the enemy we should overlook, lest we suffer the consequences. The book is very easy to read and very entertaining. I highly recommend this book and all of his others which I have also read. He is a man's author for men, but all will enjoy this book.
Fantastic book May 9, 2009
Every once in awhile I come across a book that gives me a bunch of a-ha moments. This is one of them. You know you're reading a great book when you're thinking to yourself who else you want to read this book. I love the authors linking the Old Testament with Jesus.
spiritual warfare isn't for sissies May 8, 2009
This book arrived in a timely manner, in good condition and I can barely wait to increase my understanding of spiritual warfare.
Thought-provoking and inspirational Nov 7, 2008
I've enjoyed previous books by Dalbey, and found this one to be equally challenging and interesting. It is written a bit like a biography, explaining how God gradually led Dalbey to discover the reality of angels and demons, and how to deal with them in everyday life. So the personal story is interesting, but so are the stories of the spiritual encounters.
If you are someone who believes that angels and demons exist, then there are lots of practical insights and ideas to think about in this book. If you are skeptical, then read the book and see what you think!
