Publishers Description In a culture that is saturated with messages about dreams and destiny, Louise Goings's voice stands out and sounds a clarion call for the body of Christ to wake up out of their fleshly imaginations and start asking God for revelation about His plan for their lives. Too many Christians are concerned about their dreams, she says, and too little focused on seeking the revelation that only comes from God. The condition of our society seems to corroborate her argument that making and carrying out our plans independent of His will is a recipe for heartbreak and disaster--the very things we think our own planning will avoid. Readers of her new book will learn how to bring their dreams in line with their God-appointed destiny and will receive practical instruction to help them allow God to dream for them.

Reviews - What do customers think about When Your Dreams Dont Come True?
Irritating Feb 12, 2009
The gist of this book is, "Wake up and smell the coffee. Quit daydreaming! Let go of the past! Find out what God wants for your life, then follow it and be content."
That's good advice as far as it goes, and I'm sure the author meant to be encouraging. However, she comes across as scolding and even a little self-righteous. She sounds more like a coach giving an overly long pep talk to a high school football team that hasn't been trying very hard.
There isn't much practical how-to. The book is more about what NOT to do. What should we DO? Get God's revelation! Well, how? How do you hear Him? How do you distinguish His voice from other voices?
I also think she's oversimplifying things. Not all of our desires are fleshly and wrong. Not all dreams are unfulfilled because they were never God's will in the first place. A more complete and balanced view is needed.
