Item description for Paris Floral Interiors by Gilles Pothier...
Without a doubt, Gilles Pothier is the only French florist of world renown. In between demonstrations in all corners of the world, he works and lives in the heart of Paris. The most beautiful Parisian interiors are often the setting for his majestic floral compositions. Whether it is a luxurious salon, giving testimony of an ancient history, or minimalist spaces, Gilles Pothier creates his vegetal and floral compositions in perfect harmony with their surroundings. Every space is a new challenge to this artist, because architecture and design have always fascinated him. Working in prestigious interiors is no longer an assignment, but far more a reward. In this book Pothier does not only show us his true masterpieces of floral art, but also situates them in extraordinary settings that have never been shown to the public. Text in English and French.

Reviews - What do customers think about Paris Floral Interiors?
Full of inspirations. Loved most of it. Nov 29, 2008
This book was my Christmas gift and i couldn't wait until Christmas to open it. I was very eager to flip through it for that usual WOW factor i expect from Gilles Pothier. I was impressed with most of his creations. I think my expectation was too high and it got the better of me when i opened the book. I found most of his designs in this book were very inspirational but i also found some of his designs made me scratch my head and wonder what the F was he thinking??? As a true designer himself, I'm sure he's gotten his full share of harsh criticisms. However I've gotten a lot of ideas and inspirations from this book. I agree with inkboychicago's review regarding "...often a single arrangement is shown across a double spread thereby losing a good deal of the image in the gutter of the pages!" Unfortunately, there is no way of presenting a detailed double spread page of the art work without losing portions of the piece. All in all, I found this book to be very enjoyable and have been inspired by his designs. As a professional floral designer, I am always looking around for inspirations and appreciate true artistic craftsmanship and unique ideas. I really like seeing designers thinking outside the box. However, i could really do without Gilles' feeble attempt with poetry. I much rather have him describe the arrangements themselves than having to read his mumble jumble as he's trying so hard with the poems. For what it's worth the price of the book is pretty decent. I also recommend Gilles Pothier's other book "Meisterflorist" by Gilles Pothier. This book is much more impressive.
Nice book, but lacking the wow factor Oct 13, 2008
I eagerly collect high-end european floral design books. The photography is good, but I become frustrated at how often a single arrangement is shown across a double spread thereby losing a good deal of the image in the gutter of the pages! There are several unique designs in this book, but much of the book relies on the Parisian settings. I would rather see bold French style in a less chaotic background. I feel this book offers a total of four amazing works, but for the price I was expecting more.
