Register your artisan biography and upload your photo! Gerald J. Bayens is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He teaches graduate courses in research methods, law enforcement and correctional management, while supervising master's theses. In addition to his academic teaching experience, Dr. Bayens worked in the criminal justice field for 22 years as a police officer, criminal investigator, corrections officer, and correctional administrator. He is a former Kansas Bureau of Investigations Special Agent and Director of Juvenile Corrections. Dr. Bayens is the recipient of the 1993 Washburn University Fellow Award and is a past president of the Kansas Correctional Association.
