Knowledge is Power! Feb 14, 2007
This is a great book. I like facts only and this book is scripture verses catechism. No opinions, just facts. The Reformation is when the bible was changed...by catholics! The Apocrypha books (7 extra books) were added in 1546 by the Council of Trent. Please research this for yourself. The Jews had the "true" old testament and they rejected the Apocrypha as scripture. See it pays to work off of written facts not what you have heard.
F.Y.I. Take a look at your CCC 841!! You might be shocked at what you find. Please read things for yourself; Take heed that no man deceives you! Always judge other books (including the catechism) by the scriptures in the bible. God Bless.
Ignorant gibberish...some truth to balance. Jan 19, 2007
What faith would be closer to the truth? One that has been in existence since the time of Christ? Or one that sprung up in defiance only a few hundred years ago, or one invented only a few years ago? Should one believe in a faith that has the complete Bible, or one that discarded seven books of the Bible during the reformation when they disagreed with their teachings? Should a person believe in a faith that has survived the test of time over 2000 years, or one that keeps reinventing itself because of the limitations of it's flawed doctrine? Should one believe in a constant and consistent faith or a faith that even the leaders of the reformation would not recognize or endorse? Should one believe in a faith that has had an unbroken line of Church leaders since the time of Christ, leaders that were actually instructed by Christ, or a faith that is blindly led by no one in particular, continously causing divisions and new branches of faith?
The Catholic Church traces it's origins back to Christ with Peter the lead apostle as it's first Pope. The scriptures absolutely say this in Matthew 16, 18-19: And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican are built where Peter was killed and buried. What more proof does anyone need? I know I would no longer risk my eternal soul on being too embarassed to admit I was wrong and continue going to a Protestant or Mormon church for appearance purposes if I learned and realized the truth.
There is nothing in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that contradicts anything in the scriptures, nor is there anything in the scriptures that contradicts anything in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. That is why I, a man raised a baptist...whose father was a Southern Baptist minister, and I realizing that the baptist faith was incomplete, mistakenly converted to Mormonism, but eventually came to realize what a huge mistake that was, and I finally found the truth and the true Church. It was always there, since the time of Christ! I only had to ask myself the above questions to find and understand this. I hope to be confirmed in the Catholic Church this spring.
Would you rather now the truth now, or when you are standing before God on judgement day? Dec 6, 2006
I was a Catholic for 28 years, I went through all the classes, all the sacraments, church every Sunday. I always felt like there was something I was missing, but did'nt know what it was. Hey, I was in the "One True Religion." What more could I do?
I had always believed that the Bible was the ultimate authority in the church. It wasn'nt utill I actually sat down and read it for myself that I saw the major differences between what the Catholic Church taught and what the infallable word of God said. I saw the FREE GIFT from God to us was an invitation to spend ETERNITY with him in heaven, you did'nt have to work for it, you just had to accept by FAITH that Jesus did it all on the cross for us. Admittance of your sins and Faith believing is the only thing you need to come to him with. I felt so deprived from the word of God that I can't get enough of it. Just get your self a good Bible, I reccomend the SPIRIT FILLED LIFE BIBLE FOR STUDENTS, because if all you ever did was what the Catholic Church taught you, you will need a good student bible. Dive right in, and you will never look back. Then on judgment day you will have no fear, you know the truth, thy word is truth.

St. Paul himself calls Abraham 'Father' multiple times and St. Paul himself, in regards to the Eucharist states, 'What I received I'm handing on to you' this equals tradition. I recommend to the author and the Anti-Catholic "friends" (nice friends) to spend an hour before the Blessed Sacrament and learn at Jesus' feet. Oh yeah-try kneeling as well. You might also study the history of the Church Christ founded and see if the gates of hell hath prevailed or if Christ was just wrong. How sad to be a protestant and miss the fullness of the Catholic faith. You'll be in my prayers.
ANTI CATHOLIC HATE LITERATURE Sep 23, 2006
This is more anti-catholic material by a person who has an extremely narrow view of all religious beliefs but his own. Not only does he hate Catholics but only respects those that follow his very peculiar interpretation of the Bible. He represents a very small minority of sects which based their teachings on a narrow and twisted view of scripture that is in oppostion to most major christian denominations not only catholics. if you hate catholics, this is the book for you! If you want truth, save your money.
