Item description for Workouts in a Binder for Swimmers, Triathletes, and Coaches (Workouts in a Binder) by Eric Hansen, Paul Meisel, Matselane B. Khaahloe, Meera Samson, Anuradha De, Nora Guthrie & Cory Doctorow...
Written by two former coaches for the U.S. National Swim Team, Workouts in a Binder for Swimmers, Triathletes, and Coaches extends beyond freestyle to include other strokes for masters and collegiate swimmers and coaches, as well as triathletes seeking skill-building in the off-season. The workout categories, which are more diverse than Swim Workouts for Triathletes (the previous book in this series), include distance, middle distance, sprint, individual medley, and stroke. Competitive swimmers and coaches can build a training plan using a variety of workouts from each category to improve speed and skills. Recreational swimmers, on the other hand, can realize new fitness levels by introducing greater variety to their swimming routines. Printed on large, durable cards, this new entry in the popular Workouts in a Binder series was specially designed for swimmers to use at the pool and can be easily read, even through foggy googles and flip-turn splashback.

Perfect! Sep 3, 2008
I've purchased several swim workout books and have generally been frustrated that they aren't 1) handy around the pool because they aren't waterproof; 2) the workouts are too challenging; or 3) the workouts are too easy. Well this book masters all those issues. It is deck ready (waterproof) so you can leave it at the end of your lane. It has a great number of workouts with an "A" level (hard core swimmer who likes heavy yardage) and a "B" level (a swimmer looking for a little less yardage). The workouts are broken down into distance free, middle distance free, sprint free, the individual strokes, etc. The authors have also created multiple guides for planning your workouts into a 13-week regimen or a 26-week regimen. For those working out on their own, without a coach, this is THE workout book you need.
Great and very useful Jul 7, 2008
When I finally got to using it became my best friend. I would highly highly recommend this to anyone who is really really interested in swimming. Don't forget to drink water. Also it works great for regular swimmers as well as triathletes and even coaches (as it says in the book cover).
Great Product! May 19, 2008
This is a great product! there are different levels of swimming workouts and the sets are easily altered if you want more or less on a particular day. It really is waterproof too. I keep it at the end of my lane and it is still as good as new (i was a bit skeptical about this).
It's the perfect gift item for the athlete looking to the pool to improve prowess and routines. Mar 3, 2008
Athletes seeking new or modified routines for swimming will find this a treasure trove of tips, packaging waterproof pages for pool deck use and oversized flap pages for holding workouts upright with 100 new workouts that blend strokes, drills and endurance-building routines. It's the perfect gift item for the athlete looking to the pool to improve prowess and routines.
Great swimming companion Nov 9, 2007
I am preparing for my first open water training. Have been out of the water for years till I decided to get back into it 3 months ago. Lately however, I have been finding it hard to motivate myself and to make my workout interesting. While this book is not really a motivational tool, it has provided the variety that I'v been looking for. It like the waterproof material and how it is written. Hopefully, it keeps me interested till the competition, which is 2 months away.
