More About Bill & Gloria Gaither and Their Homecomi
Gaither Homecoming Friends is the name applied to a series of videos, music recordings and concerts, which are organized, promoted and usually presented by Christian music songwriter and impresario Bill Gaither. To date, the Gaither Homecoming title is applied to more than 60 videos, dozens of music recordings, and an annual concert tour that drew more than half a million fans in 2004 (the most recent year for which statistics are available).
On February 19, 1991, the Gaither Vocal Band had just wrapped up a recording session in a Nashville, Tennessee, working on an album called Homecoming, which featured many of the great voices of southern gospel music: The Speers, the Gatlins, Jake Hess, The Cathedrals, Howard & Vestal Goodman, Buck Rambo, Eva Mae Lefevre, James Blackwood, Hovie Lister, Jim Hill, and J.D. Sumner & The Stamps. After the session, the artists stayed around to chat, swap stories and sing old standards around the piano. The impromptu session was recorded on video and later published. The recording was so well received that Gaither began a series of professionally-produced videos with larger gatherings of gospel musicians.
Today Bill & Gloria Gaither and their Homecoming Friends is a favorite staple of Gospel Music audiences around the world.

Gaither DVD Mar 26, 2010
I'm very pleased with my purchase and the timely manner in which it arrived. Thanks
Go Texas! Mar 21, 2010
Well, I am sure that it is a great DVD for those who like the zest and bigness of it all, I intend to keep it. Though I like Texas and its people, (especially my gransons), this DVD was just a bit big for me.
Why did I buy it? I was actually looking for a song, and bought four DVDs before I found it. So! Lucky me, I get to expand my borders of appreciation. I will just have to learn to love it.
As usual, fun, upbeat, solemn, inspirational and entertaining! Oct 26, 2009
The Homecoming group is in Fort Worth Texas, 1996 with toe tapping, joyous gospel music Texas style. If you have not seen the Gaither Concert Series, you are in for a special treat, if you love the music of gospel. These productions are always fun to watch, inspirational to listen and great sing-a-long. You can always expect to hear some comedy, usually by Mark Lowry. The Stamps Quartet are featured, and also Eva Mae LeFevre.
The Happy Goodmans sing "I Hold a Clear Title to a Mansion", and a very popular one of theirs, "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now."
What is here, my favorite by the Gaither Vocal Band, "Yes, I Know" and the joyful "I'm Saved and I Know That I Am." Cynthia Clawson does "Jesus, Hold My Hand." Football's Terry Bradshaw joins Jake Hess and J.D. Sumner for "That's Enough."
Some other songs include: "Everybody Will Be Happy Over There", "Give The World a Smile", "Just A Little While", "Gone";
"To Me It's So Wonderful", "Look What The Lord Has Done", "Happy Rhythm"; "The Prettiest Flowers Will Be Blooming", "Now I Have Everything"; "What A Savior", "Blood Bought Church", "I'll Walk Dem Golden Stairs", "Life's Railway To Heaven", "I'm On My Way to Heaven", "All People That on Earth Do Dwell", "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus", "Written in Red", "Gentle Shepherd" and "I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy".
As usual, this is fun, and it is always nice to see the regulars, plus the guests. Try Atlanta Homecoming and for some historic insight to the elder singers, Turn Your Radio On .
