More About Bill & Gloria Gaither and Their Homecomi
Gaither Homecoming Friends is the name applied to a series of videos, music recordings and concerts, which are organized, promoted and usually presented by Christian music songwriter and impresario Bill Gaither. To date, the Gaither Homecoming title is applied to more than 60 videos, dozens of music recordings, and an annual concert tour that drew more than half a million fans in 2004 (the most recent year for which statistics are available).
On February 19, 1991, the Gaither Vocal Band had just wrapped up a recording session in a Nashville, Tennessee, working on an album called Homecoming, which featured many of the great voices of southern gospel music: The Speers, the Gatlins, Jake Hess, The Cathedrals, Howard & Vestal Goodman, Buck Rambo, Eva Mae Lefevre, James Blackwood, Hovie Lister, Jim Hill, and J.D. Sumner & The Stamps. After the session, the artists stayed around to chat, swap stories and sing old standards around the piano. The impromptu session was recorded on video and later published. The recording was so well received that Gaither began a series of professionally-produced videos with larger gatherings of gospel musicians.
Today Bill & Gloria Gaither and their Homecoming Friends is a favorite staple of Gospel Music audiences around the world.

It touches your heart! Sep 18, 2009
A friend let me borrow this video. I ordered my own copy immediately! I have always loved the Goodmans and their singing. The video has such spiritual and heart warming music....that's Vestal! She just had a way of touching people as she ministered in song. And ofcourse Howard has some great ones on there too. Their story of how they met and married and the journey of their singing together through the years is such a blessing. I certainly recommend this to everyone of all ages!
Tribute to Howard & Vestal Goodman Dec 21, 2007
This tribute to Howard & Vestal Goodman is excellent! It shows them at their very best, that of giving uninhibited praise and glory to our God. I love the selections that were chosen for this tribute. They were and are very uplifting and inspiring, and I praise the Lord that He is continuing to use them in their posterity for the furtherance of the Gospel and pointing others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Without hesitation, I give this tribute 5 stars.
O how good to hear one so loving of our Lord . . . Nov 12, 2006
There is no question when one listens to Vestal sing of her absolute love, trust and faith in God. Her voice just rings out right from her heart. Her husband and the rest of the Gaithers are the same.
Vestal was indeed one who followed close after Christ. You can just see her now - singing all those wonderful songs at the feet of Jesus.
It is a privilege listening to this CD.
From the Heart Aug 17, 2004
I never liked country music, least of all country Gospel, and especially Southern Gospel quartets. I would immediately turn the dial. Then, one day I saw Vestal Goodman on a Gaither Homecoming video. Vestal was the exact image of my favourite aunt, except for the "big hair." From that point, I was hooked on Homecoming videos, cassettes, and CD's. As were myriads of others, I was shocked to learn of Vestal's unexpected and untimely death in late 2003, and eagerly anticipated the announced tribute to she and Howard. I got the video first, and wept through the entire video, as I do every time I play it. Then, I purchased the CD, with the same effect. It is what we call "Anointed." I recommend this one highly. It is a well-deserved tribute to the Goodmans, who will always be loved and treasured. May their memories be eternal.
