Overview When Burton, a gourmet cook, learned how drastically Candida limited her menu options, she set out to help fellow sufferers by writing this book. Publishers Description Candida is a toxicity syndrome that affects millions of women, but the diet that doctors recommend to patients with this affliction severely restricts many of the foods that make life pleasurable - all sugars, most fresh fruits, milk and milk products, white rice, barley, wheat, most cheeses, all alcohol and fizzy drinks, mushrooms, coffee and most flours. When Gail Burton, a gourmet cook and former food writer from California learned how drastically her medical condition limited her menu options, she wrote the book to help fellow sufferers reintroduce variety and taste into their otherwise bland diets - without sacrificing their health. She includes over 150 yeast-free gourmet recipes from appetizers to desserts, a food chart of problem and permitted foods, a 14-day menu planner, and lists of safe substitute products and sources, including manufacturers.

The Candida Control Cookbook:What you Should Know and What You Should Eat to Manage Yeast Infections Feb 19, 2006
This book is informative and gives a good idea of what to eat and not to eat. I appreciate the many recipes showing a variety of ways to prepare the limited foods we are allowed to eat during the die off period.
Informative Cookbook Jun 1, 2001
This is a very informative cookbook. The recipes are the best I have found (and this is the third cookbook I have purchased). I wish I had known about using 100% pure vegetable glycerine as a sweetener months ago! Her recipes make you feel like you are eating "real" food again.
Continuing my story Managing my yeast infection Jan 15, 2001
It has now been 3 months on the Candida Control Diet and taking Lamisil --- I have my life back! Thank you Gail Burton for writing a cookbook that is realistic and good. It has been my bible over the course of this. I am purchasing CANDIDA, The Silent Epidemic and hope it will help me with figuring out what to do to maintain my healthy lifestyle. 3 CHEERS! for this cookbook!
Anti Yeast Diet Nov 6, 2000
This book has been a real help to me in my anti yeast adventure. I have been taking lamisil and following the diet for 3 weeks with great success. It is a roller coaster ride, but more ups than downs. The food is not the most tasty at times, but with so little choice it is hard. A favorite is the Oat and Orange Muffins (which I vary with different flavorings Raspberry is delicious!) -- they are simple to make, moist and freeze well. Also real good are the Rice Ball Cookies. This book is a must for those with this particular need. (ALSO - to a previous reviewer: I BELIEVE STEVIA IS VEGETABLE GLYCERIN AND WATER.)
