Item description for For the Love of Baseball: An A-To-Z Primer for Baseball Fans of All Ages (For the Love of the ...) by Frederick C. Klein...
More so than any other sport, baseball tends to bridge one generation of fans to the next. Baseball wisdom is traditionally passed along from parents and grandparents to young fans in the form of impassioned recollections of the most influential players and dramatic moments of previous eras. For the Love of Baseball embraces and enriches this process by providing a who's who of the game's past and present with a whimsical walk through the alphabet.
Adults and children alike can learn the ABCs of baseball with these beautiful illustrations that depict some of our national pastime's most beloved heroes and memorable events. Each player's illustration by artist Mark Anderson is accompanied by lively text by Wall Street Journal columnist Frederick C. Klein to create this unique tribute to our nation's favorite sport.

For Fans of All Ages Apr 29, 2008
This books title accurately describes the experience, "... for fans of all ages". Fabulous illustrations. Simple enough text that it makes sense to a kid, and at the same time brings out the kid in those of us who have a number of decades under our belts. As a dad, I also find it a great opportunity to chat with my kids (2 girls) about my favorite sport. A great investment!!!
