Reviews - What do customers think about The Star of Bethlehem?
Incredible. Amazing. Dec 19, 2009
How many more unmistakable signs are we yet to discover in nature that back up the Bible's claims? This show is a MUST SEE. It is mind-blowing to think we are only now rediscovering such powerful events from history that leave us in awe of the wisdom, power and forethought of God. These events took place 2000 years ago. Yet today, we can reconstruct the astronomical events with mathematical precision. WOW. What can I say? I've already bought several copies for friends.
Fascinating and interesting DVD Dec 15, 2009
If you haven't seen this DVD, it provides some brand new insight into the "star" that the wise men followed to find Jesus. The DVD uses the Bible to point out facts and ideas that you have probably never heard before.
The content was great, but since the host isn't a professional film producer I feel like the sound quality in certain sections is lacking and the speaker speaks a little fast at times. Some people have commented that that the material was a bit complicated, but I think that it's pretty simple to understand.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and hope to watch it many more times in the future.
JUST ONE ANNOYANCE Dec 14, 2009
I found the information in this DVD very fascinating-- HOWEVER "Mr. Larson," as he so loves to refer to himself, is rather in love with himself. I heard this DVD presentation 2ce before actually being able to sit down and watch it. Hearing it was better only because Mr. Larson is so self-absorbed with his journey, his interest in the Star, his findings, his OWN face! Maybe he should have called it Mr. Larson's Star of Bethlehem. I found the presentation is annoying to watch- his face is everywhere! It's even in the constellations! OMGosh! Get over yourself and share what God's grace and benevolence has allowed you to re-discover and make available to us (THANK YOU!!) something that was edvident to many long, long ago but lost to many generations. It would have been a much more enjoyable documentary to watch if there had been some classic art, maybe historical scenery, etc. It's boring to watch him stand in front of a small group of people for most of the DVD- other than of course, the side takes of him explaining himself again......then seeing his face as he "prays and contemplates his findings" amidst the stars....Who directed this this way? He acts as if he is the only one "privy" to poetic Divine revelation. Obviously, he does not read any of the Roman Catholic Church's great Saints and Mystics. Also, I almost laughed out loud when he admitted he didn't understand the book of Revelation. He (and all of us) would understand it much better if he read Scott Hahn's book, The Lamb's Supper. It's a beautiful, important unraveling expose of an intense Book from The Bible that God gave to us for understanding! Also, Mr. Larson totally misses Our Lady of Guadalupe as evident in Revelation 12. But then, he is a Protestant, so he has limited himself in his resources for understanding.
All that being said, I did buy a couple copies to give as gifts - to a few men who are hard to buy a Christmas gift for. Overall, it's interesting. He's just a bit sickening.
HUGE FAITH BUILDER Dec 6, 2009
Johannes Keplero was the man who, in the 1600s, figured out the mathematical equations for the paths the stars take, those big circles of various sizes that make That Spirograph of phenomenal beauty in the sky. Math is unforgiving, perfect and the paths the stars take are perfect and therefore predictable.
Give that math to a computer and say, Map out the star paths for 4000 years, and you have software that can show you where the stars were around the birth of Jesus!!!
How cool is that?
Well this author, a lawyer and Christian, became fascinated by it. It appears God put in his line of vision the software, a class, disparate research projects, a scientific article and a number of other coincidental convergent events that led him to the discovery of what the Star of Bethlehem WAS.
Keplero, who tried to find the Star of Bethlehem 400 years ago, couldn't find it because he was looking for the birth of Jesus in the WRONG YEAR - a dating quirk we have since unravelled. Figuring that out was a huge key the details of which are related here.
Hearing this story brought alligator tears to my eyes as I watched God's hand across time orchestrating the biggest events in human history against a backdrop of beauty and grace and unbelievably obvious signs predicting them.
I had to buy this so I could watch it again and again with a pause button because the Bible references about the signs in the stars are fascinating and copious. It's all there... ALL there in the Bible. I am no Scripture scholar but this was mesmerizing enough to improve my faith in the veracity and precision of the Bible a ton.

A wonderful, thoughtful film. I found myself far more interested in the proof of the Star than I had first thought possible. A nice addition for a modern day "Thomas" Amen !
