Item description for Unspoken: Bathsheba (The Lineage of Grace Series #4) by Francine Rivers & Anita Lustrea...
Overview Unspoken is the fourth book in this series. Bathsheba, a name that to many, means seduction and sin, a name to remain unspoken! But, God called Bathsheba his own, worthy of the legacy of his Son. Who was this woman who so entranced David the King that he sinned greatly for her? And, who was this woman who gave birth of Solomon, wise king of Israel? Francine Rivers, with her hallmark touches of brilliant prose and gripping characterizations, tells Bathsheba's story in a way you've never heard before. Remaining true to the facts given in Scripture, Bathsheba is brought to life, to speak to us in new and life-changing ways. This is her story, a journey from innocence to despair, and on to hope in the God who restored her.

More About Francine Rivers & Anita Lustrea
Francine Rivers began her literary career at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Journalism. From 1976 to 1985, she had a successful writing career in the general market and her books were awarded or nominated for numerous awards and prizes. Although raised in a religious home, Francine did not truly encounter Christ until later in life, when she was already a wife, mother of three, and an established romance novelist. Shortly after becoming a born-again Christian in 1986, Francine wrote Redeeming Love as her statement of faith. First published by Bantam Books, and then re-released by Multnomah Publishers in the mid- 1990s, this retelling of the biblical story of Gomer and Hosea set during the time of the California Gold Rush is now considered a classic work of Christian fiction and continues to be one of the Christian Booksellers Association’s top-selling titles; it has held a spot on the Christian bestseller list for nearly a decade.
Since Redeeming Love, Francine has published more than 20 novels with Christian themes - all bestsellers- and she has continued to win both industry acclaim and reader loyalty around the globe. Her Christian novels have been awarded or nominated for numerous awards including the RITA Award, the Christy Award, the ECPA Gold Medallion, and the Holt Medallion in Honor of Outstanding Literary Talent. In 1997, after winning her third RITA award for Inspirational Fiction, Francine was inducted into the Romance Writers’ of America Hall of Fame. In 2007, the feature-length film version of her novel The Last Sin Eater was released in theaters by Fox Faith. In March 2010, Francine officially became a New York Times bestselling author, when Her Mother’s Hope debuted at #12 on the hardcover fiction bestsellers lists. The sequel, Her Daughter’s Dream, debuted at #12 on the same list just 6 months later, in September, 2010. Francine’s novels have been translated into over twenty different languages and she enjoys best-seller status in many foreign countries including Germany, The Netherlands, and South Africa.
Francine and her husband Rick live in Northern California and enjoy the time spent with their three grown children and every opportunity to spoil their five grandchildren. She uses her writing to draw closer to the Lord, and that through her work she might worship and praise Jesus for all He has done and is doing in her life.
Francine Rivers currently resides in the state of California. Francine Rivers was born in 1947.

great book Jun 2, 2008
Many Christian women have grown up in Christian homes and take their faith in God for granted. Bathsheba grew up in the Jewish faith but her faith was not in God, but on one man, David. Francine Rivers faithfully depicts the story of Bathsheba, bringing out details of the story that make it come to life. Bathsheba's story is one of sin, greif, repentance and forgiveness. This is a story many modern women need to read.
BETHSHEBA GREAT STORY Mar 26, 2008
This was a great story about Bethsheba. You hear stories about her in church, but the book really helped me to understand her and learn so much more about the. Francine Rivers does a fantastic job.
I WAS DISAPPOINTED Jun 12, 2007
I READ THE FIRST BOOK ABOUT TAMAR (UNVIELED) AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT, I THOUGHT IT WAS TASTEFULLY WRITTEN AND REALLY MAKES US UNDERSTAND WHAT PAIN TAMAR WENT THROUGH AND WHAT DROVE HER TO DO WHAT SHE DID. I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN UNSPOKEN. I BELIEVE THAT WHEN YOU TAKE A STORY FROM THE BIBLE YOU CAN ADD SOME THINGS THAT ARE UNKNOWN TO US TO COMPLETE THE STORY, I UNDERSTAND THAT. BUT IN THIS CASE, I THINK RIVERS WENT TOO FAR, THE STORY HAS WAY TOO MANY DETAILS THAT IN MY OPINION SHOULDN'T BE THERE. I FIND THIS BOOK TO BE CLOUDING OVER ME WHEN I READ THE STORY FROM THE ACTUAL BIBLE. ALTHOUGH I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS MOSTLY FICTION. IT PORTRAYS BATHSHEBA AS THIS INNOCENT WOMAN, WHO DREAMT OF DAVID ALL HER LIFE AND WHEN LUST HAD CONTROLED HIM AND HE TOOK HER TO THE PALACE "SHE COULD'VE SAID SOMETHING TO HIM BUT SHE KNEW THAT IF SHE DID HE WILL SENT HER BACK TO HER HOME". AS IF SHE COULD'VE PREVENTED IT FROM HAPPENING, BUT HER OWN LUST WAS DRIVING HER AS WELL. ALSO, I DIDN'T LIKE HOW DAVID WAS PORTRAYED IN THIS BOOK. DAVID IS A BIBLE HERO, BUT HE SINNED AND WHEN WE READ THE BIBLE (BOOK OF SAMUEL 2) WE ARE DISAPPOINTEAD AND IN SHOCK WHEN A PERSON THAT WAS SO LOYAL AND DEVOTED TO GOD AND HIS PEOPLE WOULD SIN LIKE THAT. I FIND THIS BOOK PORTRAYING HIM TOO HARSHLY. YOU KNOW, I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A REASON GOD DID NOT ALLOW MANY DETAILS ABOUT CERTAIN STORIES TO BE WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE. THERE IS DEFINITLY A REASON. AND MAYBE THIS IS THE REASON, THAT IT WILL NOT OCCUPAY OUR MINDS TOO MUCH AND WE FOCUS ON THE REPENTANCE PART THAT HE EXPIRENCED. OVER ALL I HAD A REALLY BAD FEELING WHEN I WAS READING THE BOOK, I WAS NOT AT EASE. AND WHEN I STOPPED HALFWAY, IT FELT LIKE THE RIGHT DECISION. I THINK GOD WAS TELLING ME TO LET IT GO, AND NOT FILL MY MIND WITH ALL THESE DETAILS THAT MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT BE TRUE. I KNOW EVERY PERSON FEELS DIFFERENTLY ABOUT EACH BOOK. I AM WRITING THIS JUST TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT WAS MY EXPIRENECE WITH THIS BOOK. AND PLEASE DON'T DISREGARD THE AUTHOR AND HER OTHER BOOKS. FRANCINE RIVERS IS A GREAT AUTHOR, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHY THIS BOOK DIDN'T APPEAL TO ME. I ONLY READ ONE MORE BOOK IN THIS SERIES AND IT WAS GREAT (UNVEILED).
Bathsheba brought to life May 19, 2007
Francine Rivers has the wonderful ability to take a character from the bible and bring her to life, by adding context and details. Although the additions are fictional, they are well researched and give great insight into the culture and the times, and make for a fascinating story. You will have a new understanding of Bathsheba, and won't be able to put this little book down!
