Item description for Your People Shall Be My People by Don Finto, Michael W. Smith & Debbie Smith...
Overview Too many Gentile believers think of Christianity as a replacement for Judaism - and Israel as something apart from God's plan. Don Finto's Your People Shall Be My People reveals God's pursposes for His covenant people in these times - and how this revelation is impacting the Church.
Unlike Ruth in the Old Testament, many of us have turned our backs on the relatives of the Messiah, and we share the collective guilt for centuries of their persecution. Finto reminds us that confessing these sins is only a beginning. More than ever, we must embrace and intercede for the chosen people of God, aligning our prayers with God's plan.
With Israel and her people once again center stage at a crucial moment in world history, our prayers for them are vital. Will we make the same covenant pledge to Israel that Ruth made to Naomi? If so, our Church will never be the same.
Publishers Description "Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God" (Ruth 1:16). Like Ruth in the Old Testament, every Gentile believer has come out of the land of famine and into the spiritual realm of abundance in the name of Jesus. But unlike Ruth, we have turned our backs on the Jewish people, the relatives of the Messiah. We need to confess personally and corporately on behalf of the Church for centuries of persecution of the Jewish people, looking in these days for every opportunity to bless and not curse them. Once again, Israel and her people are center stage at a crucial moment in world history, and this book shows why the Church must effect reconciliation and why our prayers are vital in this hour. If we will make the same covenent pledge to Israel that Ruth made to Naomi, the Church will never be the same

Incredible Book, easy to follow Jan 26, 2007
This is an incredible book for opening your eyes to where we should be in relation to our Jewish brothers and sisters. It is very easy to read, but it does challenge you to go deeper into studying God's word. After I finished reading this book, it changed the way I read and studied my bible. I no longer read the bible thinking it's all about me, here in America(replacement theology). When the bible talks about Israel, it means Israel. I believe in this book so much that I bought a case of them (60) and have been passing them out. I consider it an investment into God's kingdom. It's time for the American church to realize our part in "praying for the peace of Jerusalem". Don's follow-up book "Future of Israel" is also a fantasit book. He is an excellent, understandable writer!
An extremely simple to understand book on an extremely difficult subject Jan 26, 2007
I have known Don Finto for many years and know his love for Israel and the Jewish people. After reading this book I gave a copy to a friend of mine who is the Superintendent of a major denomination. He was so influenced by it that he is giving copies to every pastor in his denomination in the state he is over.
Get it, you can't put it down until you finish reading it. Blessings,
Eye and Heart Opening Oct 23, 2006
I have a much better understanding of the heart of God for the Jew and the world and His plans after reading this insight. He loves us all and desires all of us to be saved and has a detailed plan on how to accomplish it. This book helped me get on the right track with my own Bible study as I search for Him and His heart.
Your People Shall Be My People Aug 23, 2006
An important book, historically and theologically for any Christian or Jew who wants to be abreast of the prophetic meaning of the OT. It caused me to rethink my understanding of the teachings of the prophets as well as those of Jesus and Paul concerning end times, especially the return of the Messiah and the role of the Jewish people in His return. As I began reading Don Finto's words, I found myself saying, "This changes everything".
