Item description for The Sacred Echo: Hearing God's Voice in Every Area of Your Life by Margaret Feinberg...
Overview Reveals that God's message is delivered not through a direct or distant voice, but through an echo reverberating in Sunday sermons, conversations with friends, and random events, and those who listen for the echo are invited to echo back to Him through prayer.
Publishers Description 'Don't Listen For the Voice of God. Listen for His Echo.'When God really wants to get your attention, he doesn't just say something once. He echoes. He speaks through a Sunday sermon, a chance conversation with a friend the next day, even a random email. The same theme, idea, impression, or lesson will repeat itself in surprising and unexpected ways until you realize that maybe, just maybe, God is at work. According to author Margaret Feinberg, the repetitive nature of a sacred echo gives us confidence that God really is prompting, guiding, or leading. The sacred echo reminds us to pay close attention -- something important may be going on here. The sacred echo challenges us to prayerfully consider how God is at work in our life as well as in the lives of those around us. The sacred echo is an invitation to spiritual awakening.Margaret writes, 'I want a relationship with God where prayer is as natural as breathing. If God is the one in whom we are to live and move and have our being, then I want my every inhale infused with his presence, my every exhale an extension of his love.'If that's your desire too, let Sacred Echo be your guide to a deeper, more rewarding relationship with the God of the universe.

Great read and perfect timing May 7, 2010
I picked up a copy of this book totally by accident. After reading I realized how little an accident it really was. One quote in particular stood out and has stayed with me since. "My calling is to press my face between the shoulder blades of Jesus and follow Him wherever He leads." Thank you Margaret for the candidness that makes you who you are.
Transform your prayer life Apr 28, 2010
Just after one week of study, my prayer life starting transforming! I was diligent about doing the homework and reading thoughtfully and it is paying off. Margaret is so authentic and open about being human in her growing journey with God and prayer. You will grow spiritually with this book.
A beautiful reminder to 'stay at the throne' in prayer... Feb 15, 2010
I was honored to hear Margarget Feinberg speak last year at the MOPS International 2009 Summit, and instantly recognized her beautiful gift to share God's truth with others. I couldn't wait to read her literary works, and "The Sacred Echo" was my first. I felt I was reading a letter penned by a dear friend. Her writing is fluid, easy to digest and filled with personal stories.
The book is written for people in all stages of their faithwalk, reiterating the value of the practice of communing with God and remaining attuned to His voice or 'echoes'. The pages are filled with personal reflection and revelation from Margaret's life, which also stirs the reader to reflect upon the times of God at work in her personal life. I especially appreciate Maragaret's honesty when sharing some of the dark questions many of us secretly harbor and may often revisit in our own hearts.
Readers will be greatly encouraged by this book and reminded that a relationship with God is not one-sided. We must stay at the throne in prayer and be attuned to hear "The Sacred Echos" that God wants to pour into our lives.
The real thing Dec 30, 2009
I found this book to be very insightful. The topic of conversation with God was presented in a real and personal way through the authors own experiences. Yet, this somehow illuminated my own conversations with God and how I view it. This is a deep subject, but was presented in a way that speaks to the heart, instead of the mind. I found this approach to be easy to relate to in my own life. Ms Feinberg's style is to bring the reader along on the journey as a companion instead of a student. This is pretty unique and keeps the reader from being intimidated by the topic. I would highly recommend this book,
Can You Hear Me Now? Dec 29, 2009
I love this book. Why? Because it's Margaret opening up and "letting it all hang out." Thanks, Margaret, for letting us share your journey, and for reminding us that God is whispering to all of us -- we just have to listen. ;-) This book is excellent for independent reflection, or as part of a group study.
