Bob & Sue Miller grew up in a small Amish community in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Christian teaching and good home cooking were part of their upbringing, a heritage which continued when they established their own home. In 1971 the Millers opened Das Dutchman Essenhaus, a six-day Amish restaurant, complete with Amish and Mennonite cooks and wait-staff. What began as a small restaurant has expanded into one of Indiana's largest and finest restaurants, a bakery, a country inn, numerous shops, and a wholesale food business; employing as many as 450 during the tourist season.
Bob Miller currently resides in Middlebury. Bob Miller was born in 1943.

This is one of the best cookbooks around! The recipes are simple and very delicious. Most of the ingredients are probably already in your cupboard. The best thing about this cookbook is that it has a large variety of recipes to choose from. This book also includes unique, yet profound sayings which are filled with wisdom and laughter. Out of all the cookbooks I own, I love this one the best! It's the one I grab when I don't feel like going grocery shopping for a hundred small items that I will never use again. If you have to choose just one cookbook for your life...choose this one!

Not only is this cookbook filled with lots of simple and easy to make recipes, but the anecdotes and quotes that fill it are wonderful. My grandmother didn't put it down until she had read the entire book that night!
