Item description for One Minute After You Die-Set of Two: A Preview of Your Final Destination - Set of Two (Issues Of Eternity Trilogy) by Erwin W. Lutzer...
Overview "One minute after you slip behind the parted curtain, you will either be enjoying a personal welcome from Christ or catching your first glimpse of gloom as you have never known it. Either way, your future will be irrevocably fixed and eternally unchangeable." So writes noted pastor and author Erwin Lutzer in this book that tackles questions such as: 1. Can near-death experiences give us helpful information about what happens after death? 2. What does the Bible have to say about sheol, hades, and purgatory? 3. What will heaven be like? 4. What will be different about heaven and what will be the same? 5. Can modern man still believe in hell? 6. How can we prepare for our own final moment? Lutzer marvels that many people spend more time planning a trip to Europe than they do preparing for their eternal home. Building on concepts introduced in his Salt and Light Pocket Guides, he urges us to study what the Bible has to say so we might comfort believers and warn unbelievers about the eternity that awaits them.
Someone you know is about to pass away. Will they enter delight or horror? Many people spend more time planning for a vacation than preparing for eternity. Perhaps it doesn't seem real that we will still exist--fully conscious and alive--beyond the grave. But it's true, and it calls for careful consideration. In this updated edition of "One Minute After You Die," bestselling author Erwin Lutzer urges readers to study what the Bible says on this critical subject. Topics include: Can near-death experiences teach us anything about life after death? What does the Bible say about purgatory? What will heaven be like? Is it realistic to believe in hell? How can we prepare for our own final moment? With 500,000 copies in print, this classic work makes an encouraging gift for believers and a tasteful word of caution for the undecided.

Reviews - What do customers think about One Minute After You Die Set of Two: A Preview of Your Final Destination?
A factual and objective look at DEATH Feb 11, 2007
Regardless of your belief system, you will experience death. We have very few records from "behind the curtain". Most records are by those who didn't die. Christianity is the only religious system that deals with the subject reasonably. Erwin Lutzer's book is very complete and honestly looks at what we know and on not know. He finally rests his treatise on Bible.
It has helped me talk with others dealing with the reality we all face many times over. The reality of life is only realized as we face the reality of Death. I would wish it were in audio format. It is a helpful study: Ignorance and superstition, humor or fantacy, are no comfort. Read the book. It will help you and "yours" - forever.
Heaven can't wait! Feb 10, 2007

The moron BaylourBear says that a Calvinistic worldview is unbiblical.
I think he's an idiot.
This book and Dr. Lutzer's view are solid and as Biblical as they come.
Not as good as I had hoped Sep 1, 2005
I am a fan of Lutzer's books for I find them to hit the nail going straight to the point, short yet full of teaching and of ease to read. Yet, I was a bit disappointed with this one.
`One minute after you die' presents the classic view of the after-life from the Christian perspective: its's heaven or hell...no midway, no reincarnation, no sleep, no chance for redemption after death. The view is explained without (yet maybe needed) complications, and is supported by decent amount of scripture referencing. It also attempt to describe what to expect to find in these respective destinations.
Unfortunately, this book barely skims over the subject and is intended for the beginners in faith. It doesn't expand on important ideas where is needed, and you feel that you haven't learned anything new.
This book is more like a `quick guide to the after-life'. Buy it if you are new to the faith and need to get grounded in the basics of what lies ahead after death. For the rest, there is definitely much better works out there to look for (I know I am).
