Reviews - What do customers think about Enid Blyton Bedtime Stories (Bright Light)?
Great Stories, Edition not so great Feb 8, 2008
I remember Enid Blyton stories as a child and couldn't wait to buy one for my 9 year old. She loved it. Other things she reads: Harry Potter, American Girl Doll Books and other chapter books - all chapter books - but she still found the short stories in this book intriguing and fun to read. An avid reader, she finished this book in just a couple of days. We were not happy with the book itself, however. It comes with a built in book light that you cannot see until you open the book. Basically, when you open the book the pages are smaller than the cover, allowing room at the top for a book light. The light works when you lift it up. It didn't work well. You had to have it at a particular angle to work. It really just made for an annoying book because the pages aren't the same size as the hardcover. All in all, Enid Blyton stories are definately worth it. If you can find another edition without the book light don't buy this one. Having said that, if this is the only Enid Blyton book that you can get your hands on (many others are sold as "stories for 5 yr olds, or 6yr olds) then don't let it stop you.
