ESV Single Column Mar 9, 2010
It's just that - an ESV single column Bible. A fair amount of margin space for making notes - line spacing is good for underlining. Paper is a little thin so ink might bleed through.
The downside - it looks like the hard back version has been discontinued so if you want one better hurry as the supply might dry up soon. And the leather bound one is available still.
Handpicked this product from many Bibles and it didn't disappoint! Feb 6, 2010
I chose this Bible as a Christmas present for myself this year. I have been very satisfied with it. Pros: - single column, large font (easier reading) - references, concordance - wide margins and space between verses for notes - heavier weight paper than the black edition Cons: - large Bible, not as portable as personal reference edition - pages are still somewhat thin (underlining bleeds through) - Christ words not in red (personal preference) Overall, I am very satisfied and another friend bought this same Bible once he saw mine.
An excellent choice. Jan 31, 2010
This is an excellent edition of the ESV Bible. The size print is just right. The single column is not too wide. Each new verse starting on a new line not only helps with referencing verses but adds clarity in reading by the additional spacing. All this with all the features of Classic Reference Edition make it an excellent reference Bible that is very pleasant to read. The quality of the paper is good and the calfskin leather cover feels great and the Bible has lovely flop to it. The only thing lacking, although it is of no consequence to me, is that there is not a red letter edition available.

I love this Bible! It has large letters and lots of room on the sides of the pages for notes.
Disappointed Dec 31, 2009
I love the ESV bible. I love the way it reads and its accuracy. Since I prefer verse by verse formatting for teaching instead of paragraph formatting, I was excited to learn of the SCR version and ordered a calfskin leather copy. The leather was soft and the binding was solid, but I was disappointed with the thin paper and the poor quality of the gilding. I have owned this bible for over a year now and I seldom use it. I regret the purchase. But I still love the ESV so I will wait to see if another publisher will produce a verse by verse version in the future and perhaps take the chance again.
