Reviews - What do customers think about ESV Journaling Bible-Black HC?
If your glasses are current, this is a great Bible. Aug 2, 2008
I was more than a little concerned about purchasing this Bible. I knew that I wanted it for the journaling lines, but saw so many poor reviews for the small print size. I'm happy to report that I received my Bible today and I am more than happy with it.
Yes, the font is small, but not unreadable. As long as your eyeglass prescription is current, you should have no problem reading this. (My prescription is NOT current, and I still think it's fine.)
It is an unusual size, but I kinda like that about it. I can't say anything for its long-term quality, but it seems to be be well-made. The pages are thick enough that I am able to use a standard highlighter without any bleed through.
The ESV is a great translation. If you're looking for a Bible with plenty of room for personal notes, this is the Bible for you.
Good, even with the small print. Feb 8, 2008
I've very much enjoyed this Bible. I'm glad that I knew that the print was so small before hand, but it's not a bother to me. I love the abundance of room to take notes in the margins and the fact the pages don't show ink bleed very much (ie. the ink doesn't show to the other side of the page very much).
Recently I've grown to really like the ESV and this version is great. I love the moleskine look.
ESV Journaling Bible Feb 8, 2008
I got this bible about a month ago, its awesome, the text is a little small but its so unique and the perfect dimensions. I'd snatch this up if I were you.
ESV Bible Jan 13, 2008
I got this as a Christmas gift for my husband. The shipping was extremely slow and almost didn't arrive in time. As for the Bible itself, it's a great Bible. We love it. The only thing that I didn't like is that I had already ordered one for someone else and had gotten the newest version, which is bigger print and bigger lines for writing. The one I got for my husband, however, was the older version with smaller print and lines. He still loves it, but it would be nice to have gotten the newest version. Otherwise, it's a great buy.
Great translation, very tiny print Dec 30, 2007
This is my first experience with ESV translation; I really enjoy the ease of reading combined with the literal translation. However, the font on this Bible is extremely small. I enjoy the large margins for note-taking, but reading for very long periods is straining on the eyes. So this is going to be a take to church & take notes Bible, and I will buy another ESV at some point with larger type that I can study without getting a headache from eyestrain.
