(RAW Rating: 3.5) In My Hood Aug 16, 2008
In IN MY HOOD II: The Saga Continues, Nettie is back to prove she is still the reigning queen of the Newark streets; this time trading the razor tucked under her tongue for a gun, and ready to take out the HNIC, Leroy "Big Roy" Jenkins, for good. She recruits a grimy street team of old and new faces to help her successfully gain all the money, power, and respect she can stand. While Detective Daniels is hot on the trail as bodies are dropping like flies, there's a new cat in town, Wild, and his mission is to take down Leroy as well. Together, he and Nettie, join evil forces to build the wildest street team alive. Greed, jealousy, and revenge cause their "team" to turn not only on her, but also on each other. Nettie's secret plan of destruction comes to a screeching halt when the truth behind her rage is revealed and her street team is taken down.
I love how Endy stays true to the depiction she vividly creates of the grit and grime of the streets. Her hood tale is filled with authentic dialogue and believable characters. Even though there are many characters to follow, each one is masterfully woven into the complicated, yet thrilling plot of bloody murder and lies. Each transition was smooth and easy to follow and is definitely a page-turner. I enjoyed the surprise twists and turns.
The author seemed to rush through parts of the story, where she could've stretched it out some. Because of the complexity of the plot, at times it was confusing as to who's doing what, when and where. She did an excellent job with making the numerous characters stand out by using repetition throughout the story to help keep them fresh in my brain. By the end, I remembered each character and why they were there and I was hungry for more.

MY GIRL ENDY DOIN' HER THANG Apr 7, 2008
I am so proud of you. You amazed me w/ the first book and have astounded me w/ this one. I always knew you had it in you to be a great writer. Keep up the good work and keep writing. We all have some type of talent in us and I see you have found yours. Use the gift that God has given you to the fullest. Your are such a giving, compassionate, and kind person know God says it is your turn to receive back since you have given so much of yourself to others. All of his angels are with you in this time, so don't worry about the haters because is they are hating that means you are doing something right. The only time the haters don't hate is when you are doing wrong. Let that be some of your strength to make you strong and stronger with each book you do. Keep it going girl....loved it.
Disappointed, but definitely entertained! Apr 2, 2008
This book dove into personal lives and relationships of the characters of the first book and proved to be a very entertaining read. I was QUITE disappointed at the end, probably because I didn't want it to. Another roller coaster ride! TWO THUMBS UP! What a way to end the saga!!! Patiently waiting for Endy's next work of art....

I have to admit this was a better read then the first one but still nothing to do with the first book the characters where the same but that was it. If you have the book already just turn to the last chapter because that was the best part and by the way what happen to Big Roy he just wasn't smart enough to put Nette and Nate together terrible book
Hood Tales Continues (token) Mar 16, 2008
In My Hood II continues after the horrible murders that left us in awe in the prequel In My Hood 1. The streets is more dangerous as ever as more players come out to take over the city. Nettie is back with a few surprises of her own with Ishmael loyal players, she is trying to not only shake up the city but take over the city and move the HNIC Leroy Jenkis out of the way forever. Wild is Wild does speaks for itself and this cat take Wild N Out to a new level when he joins Nettie and her crew and takes on a new form of hustlin to a larger level and the same set prize to take Leroy Jenkins out of the game no matter what. Money and murder is the name of the game, but as always greed still rises thru the crew causing disaster amongst each other. Will Nettie rise to the top and bomp Leroy out? Will she make it that far or will she cause her own demise once secrets start coming out of the bag?
In My Hood II more people join forces and there are more twist to the game. Endy stepped up her game some, but still starting out I'm afraid it started very slow and took awhile for the action to start. I think In My Hood II would of been better if some scenes weren't too over the top and there wasn't so much down time in the first and middle chapters. For this to be Endy's sequel she still did a good job and I congrats her with more to come.
