Item description for Praying in the Presence of Our Lord With St. Padre Pio (Praying In The Presence Of Our L) by Eileen Dunn Bertanzetti...
During his 58 years as a Capuchin friar, Padre Pio never stopped encouraging the faithful to receive Jesus in the Eucharist and to pray in the presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. During that time, thousands upon thousands of pilgrims streamed to Pietrelcina, Italy, to be there as he celebrated Mass, to receive the sacrament of penance from him, to seek his spiritual guidance, and to ask for his prayers. Among them, in 1947, was a young Father Karol Wojtyla who, later as Pope John Paul II, proclaimed him St. Pio in 2002. Now you can enter into the presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist accompanied by this humble stigmatist (one who suffers the wounds of Christ crucified). Here are his words and his prayers on life's sorrows, fears, trials, temptations, and joys.

Praying in the Presence of Our Lord With St. Padre Pio (Praying in the Presence)
Padre Pio was an extroadinary priest and person. He dedicated his life to serving others. All persons--Christian and non-Christian alike--can benefit from learning about persons who put the love of others above themselves.
Padre Pio was also blessed by God with extroadinary gifts and he used these gifts for the good of people. He used his love for people and his selfless giving as his testimony to his love of God.
This little book will give the reader insight into the beauty and depth of Padre Pio's love of God, church, and the ordinary person.
The selection of quotations and prayers is beautiful and will give the reader immediate access to inspiration.

Another wonderful book with prayer and reflection guided by Padre Pio to bring one close to Our Lord
A Very Good Book! Jul 20, 2007
This book was given to me by a priest named Father Michael Roy and I have found it be very useful for my prayer life. The Meditations are broken up into eight parts on various religious subjects. Then each subject is further broken up into a particular meditation which has the wisdom of St. Padre Pio, then some written explanation or commentary by Eileen Dunn Bertanzetti and then a prayer that can be recited for the specific meditation.
It is well put together and St. Padre Pio's words are very profound!
perfect for your holy hour Aug 23, 2005
Growing up in the late 70s and early 80s I was part of a generation that got robbed of any kind of serious Catholic teaching. We learned a few basic prayers and had a nodding acquaintance with the sacraments but most of us spent relgion class making burlap banners and collages. I had only the vaugest notion of who Padre Pio was until I was grown and began reading about the Faith on my own.
This book is a perfect little companion for your holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament. Each chapter is broken up into short but powerful meditations, excepts from St. Pio's life and ends with a short prayer. It's a really beautiful book.
