More About Eduardo Lago


Register your artisan biography and upload your photo! Eduardo Lago was born in Madrid in 1954, and has been a resident of New York City for the last twenty-two years. He has authored numerous interviews with important North American authors, including John Barth, David Foster Wallace, and Don DeLillo, and has also translated numerous works of English literature into Spanish. Lago served for a number of years as Executive Director of the Instituto Cervantes New York, and is a cofounder, together with Enrique Vila-Matas, of the Order of Finnegans.

La esperada muerte de Gal Ackerman lleva al periodista Nestor Oliver-Chapman a cumplir una promesa echa a este mucho antes de su muerte, terminar su obra inconclusa.
Durante dos años, Nestor se sumerge en los archivos desorganizados y revueltos de Gal para recavar información y poder terminar su novela. En su estudio-archivo encuentra todo tipo de documentos, anotaciones, cartas, crónicas y demas escritos que lo llevan a descubrir el origen de Gal, sus historias de amor y desamor con Nadia Orlov, los personajes variopintos del Bar Oakland y sus historias particulares, las crónicas newyorkinas de su abuelo y sucesos de la historia que les toco vivir a cada uno de ellos. Con cada capítulo que terminaba Nestor, la vida de Gal iba tomando forma y con ella la explicación de todo. Una vida engendrada en la atormentada España de la Guerra Civil y truncada en la insencible New York, una ciudad sin alma pero con mucho corazón.
Una novela para leer con calma, es muy intensa.
