Reviews - What do customers think about Larousse Concise Dictionary: Italian-English/English-Italian (Larousse Concise Dictionary)?
Good starter dictionary Jan 15, 2006
This is a good dictionary for learning beginner level vocabulary. I noticed someone gave it a bad review simply based on the fact it didn't have a few words they were trying to look up. The dictionary serves its purpose. I've studied many languages (Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Lakota, Russian, and Scots Gaelic) and can say from much experience - there is no dictionary in production that contains every word and/or translation for the language.
If you need a dictionary for learning the language, this is a good one. If you need a dictionary to translate a few words, try Alta Vista's babblefish or ask someone who knows the language.
Not a very good resource May 6, 2004
Bought this dictionary at a local bookstore to use in translating Italian birth, marriage & death records and to complement the CD-ROMs to teach myself Italian. Just about every word I've looked up is either NOT in this dictionary or has an offbeat translation.
