Reviews - What do customers think about Tea: A Cultural History from Around the World (Astonishing Facts About . . . Series)?

Not Authoritative, Thus Not Very Useful   Aug 31, 2005
I found reading this book to be like riding a bicycle and having the wheels fall off every half mile or so. As the Reference Librarian has already commented, the book lacks coherence and credibility.

I would give this book 0 stars.
Don't buy this book!  Aug 2, 2004
Despite the scholarly sounding title this book is nothing more than a brief collection of short entries--anecdotes, recipes, snippets of history--mingled with misinformation.

Among other errors, the author confuses the tea tree (genus Melaleuca), a native tree of Australia, with the tea plant (Camellia sinensis)!
