Item description for Odd God by Ed Meshler...

From the days of Abel through today God baffles, teaches, and amazes with real-life lessons from real-life people. The Christian life is an adventure, and God is anything but boring. (Practical Life)

Publishers Description
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD." Isaiah 55: 8 (KJV) How many times have you encountered difficult events or situations, shaken your head and whispered, "God just doesn't make sense"? On the surface, it certainly seems that way. He is a peculiar God, odd in many ways. But when we dig deeper, we also find a sinless and exhilarating God. From the days of Abel through today He baffles us, teaches us, and amazes us with real life lessons from real life people. The Christian life is an adventure - and God is anything but boring. Gaining his formal and spiritual education first from Liberty University and later from Liberty Theological Seminary, Ed Meshler is a native North Carolinian, Robin's husband, Sam and Ginger's dad, a Bible teacher, a writer, a reader, and a bit of a ragamuffin. Family, friends, books, music, art, sports, youth camps, and the love of Trinity God fill the rest of his time. Well, all that and an ever handy bottle of cold and refreshing sparkling water.

Reviews - What do customers think about Odd God?

reading Odd God   Oct 31, 2007
This is certainly an interesting and fascinating read. The title is intriguing -- and the author follows through with an honest look at the "oddness" of our holy and perfect God. Well-researched, well-thought out, and well-written -- I came away with an increased passion, energy, and hunger for knowing and pleasing God.

I particularly liked how the author uses real-life characters, stimulating verses, and engaging storytelling to tackle a captivating topic: the sinless "oddness" of our loving and true Trinity God. The short story format demonstrated a sure and connecting common thread: that He is real, ever-present, and can be counted on. Can't wait for future writings by Meshler...
Excellent read.  Sep 7, 2007
I just finished this book and I have to agree, it was very thought provoking. I think Mr. Meshler has touched on a subject that you just don't find a lot written or spoken about. How God's ways are not our ways, nor for us to understand, no matter how much we want to. Congratulations Ed.
Odd God  Aug 3, 2007
I bought this book and could not put it down! I was floored by the thoughts on how God tackled the tough questions about God as well as things I had never thought about meekness. Overall, it's a quick and meaningful read that will leave you thinking on and praising our God for not fitting into our mold for Him.
