Reviews - What do customers think about Essentials of Prayer?
A classic work that's been meddled with Apr 11, 2006
That this is a classic work on prayer, few would dispute. I regard it as one of the most poignant and powerful books on prayer that I have read. However, the publishers deserve a rap on the knuckles for modernizing the English. Why a book that was written in the 19th century ought to be "modernized" is beyond me. After all, we still read the King James Bible, and that was written in 1611. The result is that the work has been stripped of its original power. Find a version of this classic as it was originally written, and avoid this strange capitulation to the spirit of the times.
Classic on Prayer a Must Read! Mar 10, 2001
This one is my personal favorite, of the E. M. Bounds classics on prayer. If you want a deeper relationship in prayer then this book will inspire you. If you need a clearer understanding of how to pray, this is the book for you. I highly recommend everything written by this Classic Prayer Author.
