Item description for The Secrets Women Keep: What Women Hide and the Truth that Brings Them Freedom by Jill Hubbard...
Overview Offering insight and help for women to become more authentic through the keeping of fewer secrets, "The Secrets Women Keep" discloses the top secrets revealed in a recent "Life Satisfaction Survey" of 2,000 women.
Women keep secrets - from friends and loved ones, even from themselves. So what are the secrets? And why would anyone want to live an airbrushed version of herself instead of a rich, unencumbered, authentic life?
In "The Secrets Women Keep," popular radio host and clinical psychologist Dr. Jill Hubbard shows you how to acknowledge your secrets, release them, and find an emotionally healthy way to live. A life without secrets is a life of freedom, where you can be your real self, where you are the same on the outside as you are on the inside.
"The Secrets Women Keep" reveals the top secrets from an anonymous "Life Satisfaction Survey" of two thousand women. Most women can relate to at least some of the secrets uncovered in this survey, including:
I'm unhappy in my marriage
I feel invisible or inadequate
My past haunts me
I worry about finances
I struggle with addiction
With wisdom, gentleness, and biblical insight, Dr. Jill reveals how to shed those secrets so you can move safely into a life free of the burden of having to hide.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Secrets Women Keep: What Women Hide and the Truth that Brings Them Freedom?
Don't keep this book a secret Nov 10, 2009
Author Jill Hubbard does a nice job integrating both psychology and a biblical perspective. The balanced approach challenges the reader towards freedom. Her words emit a quiet strength and caring heart without being heavy handed. I highly recommend this book to any woman...we all have secrets we keep.
Interesting combination of women viewpoints Sep 26, 2009
I appreciated many of the authors suggestions. Even the notion of not keeping secrets in and of itself is therapeutic.
Far exceeded my expectations May 16, 2009
This book is really one of a kind. Each chapter is composed of type of "secret", giving first hand accounts of women's struggles, ways to uncover the secret, how to get it out into the open, things to keep in mind, how it affects us spiritually, and finally a prayer and resources for further help. The author seems to really care about all the struggles women have and offers many ways to help and the list of books, websites, and groups at the end of each chapter are invaluable.
For those of us who don't really think there are any secrets we keep, this book will prove us wrong. It will help you be more true to yourself, God, and your family. It helps with topics such as not seeing eye to eye with your spouse, happiness in your marriage, dealing with an affair, different sexual needs, friendships, depression, obsession with weight, finances and a lot more. Its all things that aren't necessarily talked about because they are just understood, but are a part of who we are that constantly need progression.
I got this book thinking it would be more interesting than helpful because i got my life together, but while reading it i saw how rough our lives can be and how important it is to let you true self shine and let go of any facades. As Dr. Jill Hubbard writes, you can't expect to see any changes in your life until you let go of the deep secrets buried inside. I now have the inspiration and knowledge to be myself and more. The Secrets Women keep is different from any other book out there. I will be buying copies for all the women in my life, there are topics in this book (if not the whole book!) that everyone needs to read.
