Reviews - What do customers think about In Search Of The Church?
Wonderful Testimony of a 'Search of the Chruch' Feb 26, 2010
I was surprised when I came by an opportunity to review this book that I would be the first. I read In Search of the Church about a year ago and felt a number of emotions while reading it... At times I felt excitement.. and drama... and sadness...and joy... all as I came aside Doug in his telling of his journey. I have a bit of an advantage over some in that I've met Doug and know a little bit of his story, but to read a more in-depth / comprehensive chronology of his journey was a real blessing. We all have our own road to travel, but I found while traveling with Doug on his, I could identify with many of the situations he encountered in life and in his pursuit of Christ. Although our stories are often very different, they are, in many ways, very similar: We're all victims of the Fall responding to a call from the One to return to Him. I found Doug's story to be very encouraging and it was great to see the faithfulness of our God in Doug's life at its many corners and intersections. Not only is this Doug's story.. it is in many ways a part of His story.. which means it's a part of our story too. Definitely a good read. When you put the book down you can't help but say, "Yes, God!"
