Publishers Description This book is a humorous mystery filled with small town living, and at times poignant scenes that may bring memories of the past flooding into the present. It causes readers to recall the days of their youth and enjoy the ways of simple life as much as the author. The main character is able to overcome adversity when he realized his life needed a new direction. With the help of an understanding woman, who falls in love with him, his life transformed much to the surprise of the people who knew him.

More About Donald E. Clem
The author is a long time story teller and writes in narrative style much like he uses to tell his stories, both of which are interspersed with the interaction of the characters and their dialogue. For the most part the characters are those who live in small towns, which are very familiar to the author for their charm, eccentricities, and wonderful people. Having grown up to love country life and small towns it is natural to write to use those settings for my book. There aren?t many books that use small town and country areas for story development.
Donald E. Clem currently resides in Fairfield Bay.

WITHOUT A CLUE, by Donald E. Clem will have readers laughing out loud at some of the outrageous escapades of this unlikely hero, Reginald P. Gawker. This farmer turned detective offers unexpected depth of characterization as Reginald leaves behind his produce stand to protect the small town of Mountain View, Arkansas from the terror of the possibility of pick pockets and thieves. But when small town politics encounters big time crime, Clem's artful blend of local flavor and fictional personalities becomes impossible to put down. Indeed, Clem's own police detective background lends the novel an aura of believability that will keep readers hooked. Word has it that Reginald soon encounters an even more dangerous criminal element in the next novel from Clem. WITHOUT A CLUE earns the WordWeaving Award of Excellence.
