Item description for The Spirit of the Church by Dennis Neufeld & Rick Sterling...
Were all parties in fact in agreement during the struggle to establish the Church? In "The Spirit of the Church" co-authors Dennis Neufeld and Rick Sterling illustrate a giant disconnect between the current belief about the formation of Christianity and what actually took place. "The Spirit of the Church" is a compelling study, revealing these stark differences and outlining the choices that ultimately led to the formation of the Christian church. Cherished paradigms will be challenged; the deceptions of Satan will be unmasked. You will come to see an amazing picture that will magnify Jesus Christ and His teachings and reveal the truth about salvation that could change the face of Christianity forever.

Controversial yet the facts speak for themself. Sep 24, 2007
This book is highly controversial yet it makes it very hard to argue with the facts. They were given by the authors in such a way as to make it understandable the first time I read it even though I still had to read it a couple of times to fully realize that I have been fooled by my parents and church. The authors did a nice job of providing a synopsis for each chapter to remind the reader of what he just read.
I have read other books pointing out that Paul's writings were confusing if not an outright lie but they left me with a feeling that I could not trust anything in the bible. In "The Spirit of the Church" the authors did not tear down the words and testimony of Jesus and that was very comforting. It is the first book I have read that pointed out that the spirit that is leading the many churches today is evil.
The book is very serious and every reader should be aware that the information provided in the book by the authors are 100% verified and when you have finished reading the book you are left with a hard choice to make. It is not pleasant to have someone point out that your opinions on faith and religions were wrong. Nor is it pleasant to have to make a decision that may go against your friends, family and church. However, in all, this one book is a must read for everyone who calls himself a Christian.
