Hope For The Healing Of Painful Memories May 9, 2004
HEALING OF MEMORIES is a fairly short book which contains a Christ-centered prescription for the healing of painful memories. The authors point out that the healing of such memories can often also lead to physical healings.
The plan involves six steps which are gratitude for gifts, asking light for healing of root memories, sorrow for the harm done to Christ, forgiving like Christ, thanks for the growth from the hurt and seeing the new behavior Christ wants. The book includes exercises and reflections to help us practice the steps. It is suggested that we devote 15 minutes daily to this effort. The key is to stick to the daily discipline in order to receive the maximum benefit.
