Item description for It's All about Him: Finding the Love of My Life [With CD] by Denise J. Jackson, Ellen Vaughn & Alan Jackson...
Overview The wife of country music star Alan Jackson discusses their once-turbulent marriage, and recounts the positive influences of her renewed faith in God on their relationship.
Alan and Denise Jackson's life seemed like a fairy tale: high school sweethearts marry young and leave small-town Georgia to pursue big dreams in Music City. They pay their dues, work hard, weather deep disappointments. Then their dreams come true.
In fairy tales, the Jacksons' material success―plus their "perfect" marriage, their three beautiful daughters, and their supportive families―would have signaled a happily-ever-after ending.
But real life is different from fairy tales.
At the pinnacle of their success, the Jacksons separated. For Alan, musical renown fame, and wealth still did not make up for the marital problems the Jacksons had struggled with for years. And for Denise, building her life around Alan and riding the tide of his success had somehow left her hollow, unsure of just who she really was.
You don't have to be rich and famous to go through struggles like these. Sooner or later, we all come to the point when we relize that real joy and peace isn't just around the corner of the next achievement, the next relationship, the next new thing.
That's why Alan and Denise Jackson's story isn't just a great read and a dramatic, intimate look at the golden world of celebrity. It's a story of the greatest love of all, the love that will never let you go . . . and how to find it, no matter who you are, where you live, or what you've done.
"Denise's story is an inside perspective on the results of the ups and downs of fame. Her personal struggles with life's ordinary and extraordinary consequences, her passion to have a stronger marriage, and her desire to have a closer walk with God make for a truly inspiring life." ―Carrie Underwood, 2005 American Idol Winner, ACM & CMA Female Vocalist of the Year

Loved this book May 3, 2010
This book was refreshing and was easy to read. I really liked Alan Jackson before reading this, but now I have a true appreciation for his wife and for the good people that they strive to be. What an inspiration!
A Gift for a Friend Apr 28, 2010
I had read this book right after it came out. At work I loaned my copy to a friend. She loved it, so I got her one. We both agree, you can read this book over and over and never get tired of it. The book shipped within 2 days of the order and I recieved it within a week.
Inspiring and honest Mar 31, 2010
The book is honest, simple and inspiring. Even if you are not a fan of Alan's you will be glad you read it. It was very refreshing to have someone be so candid about her life, the mistakes that have been made along the way and how she found salvation in her faith. Very enjoyable.
It's All About Him: Finding the Love of My Life Mar 21, 2010
The book was interesting and well written. I thought the book was all about Denise's husband, Alan Jackson, but it turned our to be much more. I would recommend the book to anyone interested in finding out how religion can help you endure a personal crisis.
Little Did I Know.... Jan 18, 2010
The first time I saw this book on the shelf the title struck me - I thought, "yeah, look who he is" followed by angst of how easy it is for celebrities and politicians, their spouse, or some other `inside source' to get a publishing contract while so many of us authors struggle for the slightest crumb from the industry's table.
Ungracious? Of course. Un-Christian - Absolutely. Much to my chagrin.
Little did I know how this book would impact my life.
I don't want to give away any spoilers but let me just say, Denise & Alan Jackson's struggle to maintain a healthy, centered life amidst the chaos associated with stardom is a testimony of faith ~ in themselves, in each other and in the One who can make sense of everything else.
After recently losing my husband of twenty-plus years, I made the comment to a friend: "Most people love their spouse, but not everyone is devoted to their spouse."
Terry and I were. It's obvious by this story, so are Denise and Alan.
I recommend this book for everyone who wishes to know the secret of this kind of devotion.
So when you pass it on the shelf, and like me, think ungracious or un-Christian thoughts - repent immediately! Then, open your mind, buy the book, and let the words contained in this beautiful story touch your heart and impact your life as it has mine.
